Hello I'm not sure kung dito ako dapat mag post but atleast mga filipina ang major na nagbabasa ng thread na to...

You see, me and my husband just got married. I just got the copy of our NSO MC.

There's two things I noticed.
1. The name is Dan Rob but ang ginawa nung nag-encode ginawa niyang Middle initial ang Rob it appears Dan R. na dapat hindi naman middle initial ang Rob since its a part of his first name.
2. his age on the marriage contract. when we applied for our marriage license, he's just 29 but when we got married he's already 30.

I want to know and I really beg for advise, if this will cause any problem sa application ng papers ko? And what should be done to rectify this? Sabi ng hubby ko I shouldn't stress over this, but on my part I want to know if this will cause a problem so I can do something about it.

Please help!

Thank you

Pwede pa advise pa po? Thank you.... :'( :'( :'(

@ NT_PH

Right now d pa kami nag-pass ng papers sa CIC research muna kami then baka by next week magpass na kami **Sana**

@skyemoriah

Better consult the civil registrar. they will guide you.

It was the fault of the encoder.but now your marriage contract has been submitted to the NSO. In my opinion, if you need to alter something, you'll be needing a lawyer. 1.for the correction of name 2.correction of age.

I'm not that expert with these that's why better consult the registrar.

If you have time, kindly visit the website of Makati Civil registrar. There is the guideline there how to make corrections of marriage certificate. I don't know where you got married but atleast, you'll get an idea what to do.

Try to call the CEM to ask if you can still submit the one with error.

God bless.

Para ma prooft mo na matagal talaga ang process if you get a lawyer. No need to worry kasi may mga lawyer yan ang taga NSO. atsaka if they need money magbayad kana lang. Ang mahirap dyan if Wala kang money. Atsake tell mo need mot talaga kasi gagamit mo para sa apply to canada... forsure they will understand you... Walang mawawala sayo if MAGTANUNG KA... Go sis.. kasi weeks pa marami ka pang magagawa ngaun till friday. ingat...

tama yung sabi ng mga forumers dito. tawag ka sa CEM. then kung ano sabi nila saka mo malalaman if u need to apply for the amendment. then sa NSO or registrar na after kung kailangan nga.

go go go! gawin agad para mapasa na. :D :D :D ;D ;D

Hi I'm Daphneliciouz :) I'm new here, but I've been reading posts for a while...

Here's my timeline:
08 April 2011 - CPC-M Received Application
11 May 2011 - Sponsor Approved & Transfered to CEM (Notified via Email, ECAS Active)
02 June 2011 - Application received in CEM (ECAS)

Waiting for my Passport request at the moment...
By the way, why are some notified of their passport request by PHONE CALL from the embassy, while some are just notified by SNAIL MAIL?

THANKS!!! :)

Phone call from the embassy for PPR does happen, maybe its within the discretion of the visa officer handling our applications, but majority of our forumers recieved their PPR through snail mail, which is very important because that mail contain the principal applicant's immigration file no. and the client no. as well. in addition to this, you will know in print whether additional document(s) are required on top of the passport plus the appendix A form.

But as what you said part ng name nya naging middle nya.
You will be needing lawyer talaga.
Dont think about the time but how to correct everything.
Better start correcting now than later.
Go to NSO na pinakamalapit sayo then inquire everything coz it will be a big question sa CEM yan .

On his age concern...may validity ang marriage license half or a year(UNSURE) so between that time valid pa ang marriage license.
May cases kasing matagal bago naikasal as long valid pa ang marriage license.

The officiating minister should ask you to check all the information on the MC before submitting it to the local registry to ensure its correctness kasi legal document yan. I had a descrepancy on my first name too and I had it corrected I paid a fortune and the processing took 45 working days plus the days I gathered all the requirements. When I renew my passport they wrote my hubby's second name as an initial too on their data base but I told the girl it should be written in full cause it's not really the middle name just like we have here. It's true when you have it corrected they will not change the details but there's just an annotation written on the side or underneath stating the corrections. I just don't have any idea if an affidavit from the lawyer will do it depends on CEM. It might come out just a minor error but I don't know what CEM has to say.

Continuation of B: To renew or apply for passport at Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) certificate from Seminar B is required

To avoid delay of visa processing, make sure all fees were paid, and all documents were submited.

Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF). If this fee is not paid with the application, Canadian Embassy Manila will first contact you to send you a letter to tell you to pay. The letter goes to the person being sponsored but the fees have to be paid by the sponsor themselves. You then pay your fees online or at a bank and have to send the proof to CPC-Missassauga. Then CPC-M sends notice to the CEM that it was paid.
It takes time to get back to you to tell that the fees are paid. So it does slow down the process quite a bit. Failure to pay the fee at the time of submission of the application will result in a minimum additional two-month delay in the finalization of the application according to http://www.cnn1.net/pdf_forms/3900E.pdf

Additional documents usually requested by the embassy:
1. AOM (Advisory on Marriage) from NSO- different from Marriage Certificate; should be submitted at CPC-Missassauga together with other required documents at Country Specific Instructions-Philippines http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3905e.pdf
2. Divorce Petition- different from Divorce Certificate; usually requested from Filipino sponsors who are divorced based on experiences of posters in this forum. (For natural-born Canadian sponsors who are divorced, seems that they don't ask from you, but pls confirm at CEM)
3. Appendix A- or Additional Family Information; though submitted previously, they will still ask a copy; the letter usually comes with the AOR/PPR
4. Detailed statement of relationship with the EX (notarized)- for sponsored person with a child from their ex. Sometimes you are required to submit: Ex's I.D, a notarized letter stating the ex allows the child to be sponsored, or other document asked by the visa officer.

To check application status (eCAS), download forms, guidelines and know more about Citizenship and Immigration Canada: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/index.asp

Inquiries at Canadian Embassy Manila is strictly from 8AM-10AM Monday to Thursday.

I've just notice lang halos lahat naman sinasabihan nila ng icheck mabuti ang marriage licence kung tama ang nakasulat, so my husband and I checked it so many times just to make sure na tama lahat ng info at tama naman, eto na nung makuha namin sa NSO may mali na 1 letter sa surname ng mother ko, kahit yung 2 kong friend may mali din sa MC nila nung nakuha na nila sa NSO, ayoko sana isipin na ginagawa nila yon para kumita sila, kasi 1500 din bayad nun pag may ipatatama ka (clerical discrepancy or error yata tawag dun) at it takes 4mos (sa BC ko ito) ha. Kainis talaga, siguro sa 10 halos 9 may mali.. :)
