hi agentorange! thanks for this info. now, i really don't understand how VO handles our application. Each of us here has different experiences and concerns with them maybe because different people is handling our applications. Praying that everyone will have good news soon. God bless

Hi,

I am new here and we just got on the Sponsorship bandwagon.

I am from Quebec and my wife is from Cebu. Anyone has experience doing the spousal sponsorship through Quebec? Is the process a lot longer than with any other Province (the opposite would surprise me)?

CIC received our papers on March 4, 2015 but we haven't had any letters or e-mail since. Is that normal? Should we worry?

Thanks!

Seems the waiting never ends at any stage of the process , even when you think your done your never completely done ... Hold ups and delays until the bitter end . We recieved email visa was complete a d finalized and visa package would be shipped very soon, that was 23 days ago and another week has passed.... I stupidly booked ticket as I thought well 2 weeks would be enough time .... Should have remembered very soon isn't necessarily very soon in the phills. I changed my ticket to head to phills next week , looks like another change will be in order . I wish everyone a speedy visa ....

No need to worry about not hearing anything , might not hear until you receive SA, once it's. forwarded to phills you will soon get PPR then might not hear anything until approved , depends on who handles the file. There is no real procedure to how things go . Files that are not to complicated don't usually take the 17 months they show on line. Good luck with your sponsorship

We received an email from my our mp. and this is not helping me.. please share your thoughts.
here it is

I hope you received my voicemail. I spoke with CIC regarding your sponsorship and they indicated that the medicals are passed and good until 24 March 2016. On 31 March 2015 they received a number a documents pertaining to this case including the passport, photos, Right of PR fees, police report, schedule A, additional family information, and proof of medical compliance. Additionally, they received email correspondence on 02 April 2015. The bring forward date on the file is 03 May 2015, so if you are looking for another update, you may want to wait until after that date. The criminality and security checks have not yet begun to be processed on this application. Additionally, the standard processing time in Manila is 17 months for this application type. Manila received the file on 06 May 2014 so 17 months would take you to 06 Oct 2015.

- the email correspondence i sent was just to make a follow up. would that mean if you make a follow up. they extend it more? are they nuts?
also another concern, how does the processing time being measured? is it from the time CICi Mississauga received it or CIC manila? because we sent ours January 29, 2014 and CICI Mississauga received it Feb 3, 2014
hi..17 months(it is updated quarterly) is the total processing time from the start(from the time you received your AOR from missssauga to final decision/PR)... I suggest you wait just like your consultant said. As a I read in this forum (I first joined here 2013) and the more you follow up the longer the wait. Ther are different officers processing our papers so some officers are kind enough to work faster since they know how hard it is for us to wait for something that meant life to us but for some officers they really take time...when I applied there were applicants who got their PR and visa in 4 months so I was so scared and frustrated, felt so unfair, but after 10 months of waiting I got mine....I thing is you havent received any email asking for additional documents aside from the documents in the checklist and got no schedule for interview, it means all is well.....hmmm..get update from your consultant since the CIC communicates with them so if CIC needs something your consultant must contact you ASAP..some consultants are careless that cause rejection...check the processing times online and when you see that the processing time of your paper got beyond the date stated there then it is time to update/call/email CIC....

so if feb 2014 then it is so close......

Godbless....

Hey all... Just an inquiry here: I got my automated reply from the CIC On april 3, 2015. They received my application on 2/12/2015. I have a UCI and App. No from the email.

Is this thing seriously going to take 17 MONTHS for them to process it on stage 2 manila side? I fear for my marriage, how are we suppose to wait that long? December 2016 if I calculate correctly? and this assuming the package is all correct too?

Wasn't this only 2-4 months a couple years ago??

Hi!

I just want to ask if the spouse of canadian citizens are the only Excessive demand exempt? So for people who are applyinG for PR after working in canada for 4 years, when they include their wives/husband in their application they are not excessive demand exempt?

Also, one of the requirements for spouse sponsorship are pictures of your family members, dpes that include you mother/father/siblings or only your wife/husband/kids?

Hello. Yes I received the email visa after 1 month. The email I received instructing me to pass the passports and the appendix A. Pero yung ECAS ko hindi nag che-change. We just knew it was already DM when the agent told us that it is already DM so he said we will just wait the email for another instruction.

Hello. Did you know when is your visa expired? Cause the email I received the visa expired stated there so we know when to book tickets and we already booked tickets now :). It takes a month the passports will come back to you I do believe. So we send our passports immediately after I received that instruction.

I had to wait 20 months. 17 is for 80 percent of cases. Some take longer, some shorter. When I first applied the wait time was 11 months.

tapecan,
it should not actually take 17 months, it can depending on complexity of file. On very simple files with plenty of proof you should expect 6-9 months once its transferred to phills. they usually request passport after a month or 2 in phills and hold it for until file is completed. Our file was completed in under 5 months once in phills but I kept on them
just think positive and hope for the best
good luck
