I would still send the Option C printout. If your wife doesn't have one for last year (2013), just order the latest one you have (2012), it usually takes about a week to receive.
But for Inland sponsorship application that will be required when you have dependent in addition to your spouse. If you are just couple than as per my understanding option C print out not needed by them. Because they will not evaluate you on your financial earning because you already submit undertaking to take care of your spouse financial needs etc.
And if you really need to submit option C that once i read that you can also submit Notice of Assessment from your last taxation year. You can print it out by CRA website if you have online account with them.

Some senior can also comment on it if i am wrong in my interpretation.

Thanks

this poster is applying OUTLAND and your advice is completely WRONG. For outland applicants, a recent Option C is a REQUIRED document. Not having it because of neglecting to file taxes is not a valid reason for not submitting it. A notice of assessment does NOT work as an alternative, as it doesn't provide the information CIC is looking for. the option c will confirm yearly income as well as any welfare received. Also, it has been repeatedly noted that CIC will NOT accept copies printed from the CRA website. It must be the original option c form sent in the mail by CRA.

Hey everyone,

So with our application, an Option C wasn't sent as my wife hadn't filed her taxes for last year. We put an explanation letter, explaining that we would submit it later with my wife stating reasons for the delay. I got an email yesterday asking for the Option C and giving a month for us to get the form in. I was a little stressed as my wife has been meaning to get round to it and looking at the timeline. However, my wife got an email this morning saying she has been approved as a sponsor. I'm pleased by this, but confused by the request for the paperwork and then the email. Do people think we should still submit an Option C?

Also, does anyone know how to check if my current application has been dealt with as Outland? I made a big note on the envelope requesting this, but would like to know as to where it could be identified. The reference to my case still being in Mississuaga after my wife being approved worries me slightly.

Thanks in advance!
I would for sure still work on getting the option C, as it was requested, and it's unknown if it will still be needed. While the SA makes it confusing, it's really best to just comply so there is no misunderstanding.

I wouldn't worry about your application being processed in Mississauga. For recent applicants, CIC is keeping "non-complicated" files in mississauga for processing. Also, based on others' reports, it seems CIC *may* be processing both the sponsor and the applicant applications at the same time in mississauga to speed up the process. So again, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Thanks Rhcohen, actually i am thinking that he applied via Inland application, in that case option C not required.
For option C i am not sure that what i read at the discussion form and that why ask more experience people to comment on it.
I also applied via Inland application and when i call CIC they told me that option C is not your requirement if both of you in Canada. Please advice me too on that.

i am not familiar with the inland application requirements. i suggest either looking at the inland document checklist to see if it's listed as a required documnt or asking in the inland application threads.

Why do you think that? Here's the INLAND checklist. Option C printout is clearly listed as a document to include.

My spouse is a Canadian permanent resident and the marriage was in Romania.
Now I am in Canada with a visit visa till January 2015.
Which application should I make that takes shortest time to PRship, Inland or Outland?

Thank you for your help!

You're much better off applying OUTLAND. Romania is listed as 15 months (that is for almost all applicants to be processed so many are much quicker than that) whereas inland is listed as 13+8 months. Even applying OUTLAND, you can apply to extend your visit past January. Here are the processing times for your future reference http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

Hi all, I recently joined this forum, and would like to ask some advice about some questions I have.

My husband is Canadian, we have been married for more than 20 years, and we are currently living in the US. He is about to move back to Canada, and we have filed an outland family PR application so I can join him. I have permanent residency (green card) status in the US, but I am a citizen of Mexico. I have read elsewhere in this forum that holders of US green cards can travel to Canada without a visa. I would like to help my husband move and settle in the new house, and be with him while I wait to hear results from our application, which might not arrive for many months. In addition, we are in the process of selling our house in the US, so I will soon have no street address in the US. I have a job with a US company but I work remotely, using the phone and internet. I plan to keep a POBox, and a bank account in the US until all my transactions with CIC are positively resolved. My questions are:

1. Prior to crossing the border to Canada, would I need to obtain a visitor's visa as a Mexican, since, although having a green card, I don't have a passport from a visa-exempt country?

2. If I travel with my husband by car when he makes the move to Canada, is it likely that I would I be denied entrance to Canada if I don't have a Canadian visitors visa? I am planning to admit that we are in the process of requesting my PR with CIC, but that I still intend to remain as a US permanent resident until I receive permanent residency in Canada, and that I will be willing to come back to the US prior to expiration of the 6 month visitors visa that I believe I could request when visiting Canada.

Any input from you in these questions would be much appreciated! We emailed similar questions to the CIC, but their responses were too brief to provide any relevant information,

You can find out if you need a visa at this website. I can't answer anything else but I hope this helps :)

Holitas Abuelita,

How to Travel to Canada From the U.S. With a Green Card:

Step 1
Gather proof of your ability to support yourself while in Canada, also known as proof of funds. Make copies of items such as bank statements, pay stubs and proof of employment. Take a credit card available for international use and travelers' checks. Take the originals and copies with you to Canada.

Step 2
Present your green card to the Canada Border Services Agency officer upon entry into Canada. Present your passport and proof of funds if requested. Keep your green card and passport on your person as you travel in Canada.

Step 3
Present your valid green card to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer upon arriving at the port of re-entry into the United States. Present additional documentation if requested such as your passport, foreign national ID card or U.S. driver's license
