I would strongly disagree that Baby1990's case is urgent. CIC does have other, more important things to attend to. Both Baby1990 and her husband are residing in Canada, and both have immigration status that allows them to remain there for the moment. They can see each other, live together, and are not under threat of imminent removal or loss of immigration status. There are plenty of people who are living apart from each other whose applications are much more pressing, and scarce processing resources shouldn't be spent on non-urgent cases (and, with all due respect, nothing could be more non-urgent than a status update on a case that has been voluntarily withdrawn). Contacting the MP is inappropriate for the same reason. Contacting your MP makes sense when CIC is delaying unreasonably, but in Baby1990's case, CIC hasn't done anything unreasonable - she's the one who has created her stressful situation. Ordering the GCMS notes is the right approach to get a full and detailed explanation of the status of the application. It will take about 30 days and is free because you're in Canada, and ordering notes will not slow anyone else's processing.

OH !!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o

I totally agree with you IvanP. If this is the case then there is absolutely nothing anybody can do she have to wait for GCMS notes and if they cancel her application then wait to re apply it.

Pretty sure you will be wasting your money. But if you have 5k sitting around to throw at someone, go for it.

Yea, waste of money and time. Just sit back an let the process go through.

You absolutely don't need a representative to withdraw the application. If it hasn't actually been withdrawn already, just send CIC a quick, grammatically correct email telling them you want to withdraw the application at this time because you are going through a rough patch in your relationship and you want to get past the rough patch before you go through with the sponsorship. Then, go figure out your relationship, and don't start any more immigration applications until you are sure that the relationship is stable and legitimate.

Hi guys, wondering if anybody can advise on this:

My wife received an e-mail asking her to do complete re-medical. Her medical expired last month. It is an out-land application. This is the only thing they asked.

Now, I am thinking, while it is a good thing that they communicated after a long wait, question is since they asked for re-medical without requesting the passport, is there another long wait ahead?

I can't count that how many time you have repeated yourself...
This forum is to share our experience with immigration canada not to solve your family problems...
you urgently need to see a counselor.....
Please leave all of us as we are already very stressed out because we are living away from our spouses...

It means there is something other than the medical outstanding (otherwise they could extend the medical) but it isn't anything you can provide.

I'd expect that about 2-4 months after you get an updated medical done you'll see a PPR.

It might sound crazy, but why don't you go talk to your husband and figure out your relationship before you do anything else? If the relationship is salvageable, and the application is still miraculously pending (despite your request to withdraw it), you can sit back and not have to redo the application. You've got many months to figure out the relationship before CIC will touch his file again, so plenty of time to withdraw the application later - no need to rush.

Figure out the relationship, and the immigration questions will answer themselves. You don't really have immigration questions at this point, just relationship questions.

I know this is judgmental for me to say but I think this whole story smells >:(

Hey Gurnam congrats and have a safe journey, wish you all the best have a great time ahead.

Hi Leon,

I have specific questions regarding spousal sponsorship as below:

My spouse and son (17) are PR residing in Canada. I was PR earlier, but relinquished in 2011. I am Mechanical engineer registered with Professional Engineers Ontario. I have temporary visa issue for 10 years. I keep visiting family now and then. Now I want to move to Canada permanently to stay with family. My souse has part time job (3hrs) in school but income is not sufficient. I support from outside. Family stays in our own house in Canada.

1. Is my spouse be eligible to sponsor me?

2. I am Indian and stay in Oman but the processing time taken at AbuDhabi is about 20 months as compared to 10 months at New Delhi. Can I apply from New Delhi?

3. I spoke to one of the prospective employers who earlier provided me the appointment letter (in 2011). The employer is still ready to hire me provided I have legal status to work. If I use same letter or get a new provisional appointment letter can it accelerate the application of spousal sponsorship?

4. In case of provisional appointment letter should I go for the temporary work permit or continue with spousal sponsorship. Which option is better?

5. Is there any other way to expedite in order to be in Canada permanently?

Looking forward to your advice.

Regards,

Susa
