That processing time posted really means: 80% of all complete applications are processed in X months or less.

And "complete" means two things:
a) you sent CIC a complete application and
b) CIC didn't lose any part of your application.

@ baby 1990 there in no effect of strike on application process time. They are not doing extra time now. Moreover strike wont go so long. I read few thread in which few of us got decision made on their Ecas on 12th june appox after 3 months of passport request.

Wrong assumption. If the strike has no affect then why strike?

Dear Learned Members,
File for my wife was moved to Delhi consulate in the month of July - 2012. They immediately asked for passport and since than it is with them. Some time in the month of April - 2013 Status updated to "In Process" and they asked for updated Medical and Police verification. We submitted promptly all the documents and status confirms Documents received. But since last week of April status is still same "In Process". Please can any one share some views about this. Is it a sign that she will be called for interview or other kind of trouble.

That's normal for NDVO. They ask for the passport early in the process and hold it until they are ready to issue COPR. No one that I am aware of from January has gotten COPR yet despite submitting their passports in March.

Hey all,

Thanks everyone for the replies, helps a lot =D
Makes the process much easier.

What i didn't mention is that i was a failed refugee claimant but i have that info posted on another thread (i don't want to bug a lot of people lol)

I'm pretty sure, if i get a horrific officer reviewing my case... again... that I may easily fall prey to having the full extent of the processing time thrown at me.
Nonetheless, we can all only pray that we get a 'sane' and normal-minded officer.

I'll do my part to keep everyone posted on claims such as mine, as well as the standard process and timing, hopefully in a new thread for June 2013 applicants (as soon as one is made. I'm way too new to this to know how to get that bandwagon rolling).

dear canadianjeep boy..... if you will read new delhi applicant 2013 threads there are a news update by a friend in which embassy ppl said that they wont sit for extra hrs or will not do any kind of over time till the time they are on strike, but will work as per their daily normal hrs. But yes as per your point the ppl who did or can do work for extra our to make the processing fast has an effect on our files.

Only GOD knows what is going at their end. I submitted my passport on 4th Apr and till today the wait game is still not over. Good luck to all of us

It will affect processing times. CIC has posted that on their website. Its just my own personal belief that applications processed before the new year will be focused on to get completed. So those people may not feel the affect of the strike so much. Those who will really feel it will be those who have just applied.

Hope so.... i applied in Aug 2012 to CIC-M and file transferred to ND in Sep 2012. Got letter from CIC ND on 27th Feb 2013 to submit my PCC and PP Which i submitted on 2nd Apr and ND received it on 4th Apr2013. My e-CAS status is " In Process" from past 2 months. I am worried now as my medical will get expire on 14th Jul 2013. >:(

Ya. Its going to be close. It is generally 2 months to get your COPR from the date you sent in your passport. Don't put too much faith in E-cas to be up to date. You will have to land before your medical expires so I think at this point be prepared to get here in short notice or they may wait no until your medical expires and then ask you to re-do it. That's why sending in the medical at the beginning is so stupid.

So should i re do my medical and send them in the end of Jun or do i need to wait for them to ask for resubmission of my medical?

i would suggest you to wait until you are asked to redo
as they would not be knowing that you have redo it and it can take time for them to look up to find out your new medicals

if they ask you to do means they will have an eye at their RMO that you will be doing your medicals in that given time

This is a tough call. I believe you have to wait for the request to re do your medical. The panel physician may require it before they can do the tests. Maybe you can call the panel physician you went to last time and see if that is a requirement. If not then I would redo them and send them in before it expires.

See if there is a thread where someone is talking about the remeds first.

I would say wait, since the medicals are generally so expensive. You could try emailing the VO and asking whether you should redo the meds, and hopefully that will get either a response or inspire your VO to just process your application.

Just curious to know if the immigration officers working in NewDelhi VO would be mostly Indians or may be canadians too? I'm asking this to see if they would assign a region specific visa applicant's application to an officer who is aware of that cultural background to give a fair assessment. Since India is with diverse cultural rituals & ceremonies, say for instance if the applicant is from northern part an officer belonging to that region will be assigned to take a look at it? Any thoughts from experts?
