Did you receive a notification that the sponsor meets the requirements for sponsorship? If so, that same notification should say where the file was sent.

Was your husband on a work visa in the US when you applied? If he was, his case could have been sent to Ottawa instead of New Delhi. If in Ottawa, his passport request will not occur until towards the end of the process.

For question 2. Are you asking if he can apply for a work visa in Canada?

Hello again,

Yes he is currently on a work visa in the US and wants to know if he can apply for a work visa to Canada while his spousal sponsorship is still in progress.

Thank you!

He can only apply for a work visa based on the spousal sponsorship for an Inland application (processed at Vegreville). If he applied to NDVO, that's Outland and there's no option for a work permit.

He is allowed to apply for a work permit if he finds an employer willing to provide him with a LMO however. (The temporary foreign worker route.)

Did you take this course through a university? Then pick 1...if not then pick 2.

Its a trade so pick the first one as my job is in trades and yours follow under that. You can also lookup NOC in Canada as it will also give you your trade number there as well and Good Luck.

Hi Guys,
I've got question to ask: I'm from Nepal and going through Delhi High Commission
I've sponsored my spouse and submitted my spouse passport in Jan 31, 2013
After 2 month on March 25, 2013 the e-case was updated to "Decision Made"
It's been more than 2 weeks I've not herd anything from them and received the passport back.

Any guys insight will be much appreciated

If any one is from Nepal and they have gone through this or know about this please let me know how long does it take to get back the passport after the decision is made in CIC, for Nepal.

Thank You all for going through the post
Sam

tax returns

has anyone had to file a tax return that was blank to prove that their spouse had no income in order to get child tax benefits? It seems so pointless to me but I guess it has to be done. Just was wondering if anyone else had to do this. My spouse has not had a job since he arrived in canada so do we just put his name on a blank form and send it in for the tax return?

You have to enter in their income. If it was $0, then you put in $0.

$0 is an input. It does not mean blank.

Just to add on, include a letter to explain as well the whole situation. They will want to know why he has no income.

I'd be careful of that assumption . If she doesn't have any plans to leave Canada when you try to come back in, she can be rejected and sent back.

I see what you're saying
I guess it all comes down to how we discuss with the border agent and their mood.

Thanks for your help!

Interview Question

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick question, maybe someone can help out.
My husband has been requested to appear for an interview on May 8th in Kyiv, Ukraine. Would it make a positive difference/impact if I flew in from Canada for the interview as well? Would I be allowed in the interview room or potentially be interviewed separately and our information cross referenced?

We have tons of communication and photos from after we filed for sponsorship, so I hope that also helps!

Thanks in advance! Just trying to decide what to do! :)

I would definitely go. You won't be allowed into your spouse's interview and the officer may decide to interview you as well.

Bringing new proof is great!

You will need to be able to prove you can support your spouse without social assistance. Things to take into consideration:

- help from family or friends
- your spouse's ability to work
- depending on the length of the process, it's possible you can find better employment by then

However, right now, I think you would need to find more work unless you have help from family or friends
