I am asking a question on behalf of my friend. She applied for spouse(in Pakistan) outland in September 2018.this was her 2nd marriage. After the interview in Islamabad in January 2020 , she got an email today with the rejection of her case.the officer didn't tell any reason but only said that he wasn't satisfied with the genuineness of relationship.

Kindly guide the right path for it.should she reapply or do appeal?

What if you cancelled your visa app after getting the interview. Can you still get the file reopened.

We did take the interview even though it was cancelled.

About the recommendation for mailing an application to extend and open work permit with inland does not seem right.
Most of the time you either, mail an extension request separately, regular extension request with the application, or an extension application marked for open work permit submitted with the application. Not both.

If you are submitting a regular extension with the application then do that but if you don't want to have to keep extending your stay during the process and have implied status then you only need to send an application for an open work permit included inside the SAME envelope as your PR application and make sure it is received by Vegreville BEFORE your status expires.

Overall this is a very good post and I feel this will benefit alot of people. I just wanted to state some corrections before people think they need to include both a regular extension request and open work permit with their inland application. What I have stated has been verified for years and can be backed up by many other senior members so I believe the information is correct and helpful to those applying inland like myself.

I agree. Even I learnt recently that the application for open work permit (which is an application to extend status as a worker) has an implied status. So once the package with PR and open work permit is received with an acknowledgement number, that should have an implied status and we need not apply to extend the stay as a visitor. Apart from this, the post seems great.

It is recommended to apply for a visitor extension as well because if the PR and/or OWP app is returned AFTER the current status expires, the person is then out of status in Canada and no longer qualifies for the OWP. They then have to try for Restoration of Status. This happens to quite a lot of people.

Also note that AOR is for the PR app and does NOT mean that the OWP app cannot still be returned.

We are gathering docs for my inland sponsorship. She is from Mexico and the country specific requirements require her to submit Mexican documents which are govt certified( i.e certified by issuer). Does anyone here know if we have to get it certified by Mexican embassy in Canada or is it some other organization that certified Mexican documents (birth certificate, passport copy,etc) . Need some guidance.

Did anyone answer this question? I'm also wondering how to government certify a mexican passport?

I am Principal Applicant (PA) and being a Canadian citizen my wife is Sponsoring me. I have just linked my application to GCKey Account, before linking to the GCkey account, my wife receives all the updates through Emails. Now my question is that "will she still able to receive the updates through emails" or "they will only send the emails to me on my email ID that is registered on GCkey account.

Hey guys i just passed my medical exam on GCKEY. but its still saying additional docs needed? I was only requested a medical exam and nothing else. Am i safe to assume its a lag and just hasnt updated?

Hi I cancelled my application for spousal sponsorship but we still had our interview. I wrote a letter on the web form to reverse the cancellation. The ircc replied and said they sent a note on my file and advised the responsible office. They said I should hear a reply when a decision is made as they are still processing my file. Does this mean my husband can still get his pr visa with this application?

Hi I'm having a hard time with service Ontario. They aren't giving clear answers about the document my wife (IN PROCESS) needs to prove her eligibility. We got her a nova Scotia health card no problem with the receipt we received from the government for PR application.

We gave them a copy of the receipt and we showed them an email that addresses us both from our lawyer.

Service Ontario says they want something written. We don't even have any response from the government yet.
