Please Help here. I am going to sponsor my wife from india within a month. (Both were married and divorced, once) and I have sufficient funds and all the required documents etc. Question is Do I need to fill Sponsorship Evaluation Form (IMM 5481 E) and Finanacial Evaluation (IMM 1283) ?? the reason why i am asking this question is, on CIC website it shows like this


•Sponsorship Evaluation [IMM 5481] (PDF, 742.74 KB), only if you are sponsoring your dependent child who has no dependent children of his or her own. Unless instructed otherwise, if you live in Quebec, you don’t need to fill out this form.

•Financial Evaluation [IMM 1283] (PDF, 1.24 MB), only if you are sponsoring a dependent child who has a dependent child. Unless instructed otherwise, if you live in Quebec, you don’t need to fill out this form.

[[size=10pt] please help ... because when I open the form, there is information which might be needed to CIC, I am confused please someone help here

Those 2 forms used to be included under Sponsor application using the Old Checklist. There is no mention of those anymore with the New Checklist so don't worry about it. Just make sure you will provide what was stated on no. 5 item under Supporting Documents for Sponsor of IMM 5533.

Normally about 5-10 months.

EDIT: Looking at your other posts, this section of the forum isn't relevant to you. You want to know how long it will take for your partner's permit to come through, so you should look in forums for the type of provincial, federal, economic stream etc that he is going through. Since you're not being sponsored by a Canadian partner, the timelines here are completely separate from, and irrelevant to, your situation.

Hi all, I am planning to apply for Spousal sponsorship, spouse already in Canada.
My question is, Which method is good and fast for Open work permit?
a) If you have not submitted your sponsorship application: Put the sponsorship, permanent residence and open work permit applications into one envelope.
b) If your permanent residence application has not yet received approval in principle: Send your open work permit application to the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville (CPC-V), Alberta.
c) If your permanent residence application has been approved in principle: You can apply online or on paper for an open work permit. (CIC Website)
She want to apply: Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada

Please share your advise and experience, thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone,
I am new to the forum and would really appreciate the help or advise anyone can give me. I have submitted my application but it was returned due to IRPR?

It states "An application must meet the requirements of sections 10 and 11 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) to be accepted for processing. Section 12 of the IRPR states: "If the requirements of section 10 and 11 are not met, the application and all documents submitted in support of the application shall be returned to the applicant"

I am at a loss. I have no idea why the application was returned as I am sponsoring my husband, (no as a refugee). I submitted everything and I am not getting anywhere by calling CIC.

Please help!

Section 10 and 11 contains almost all of the possible mistakes that one can make. It might give you an idea but its not very helpful.
CIC would have marked your mistakes by a highlighter in your checklist or probably even wouldve added a document stating what exactly you did wrong. Did you not receive anything like that?

is it ok to submit T4 instead of notice of assessment?

should be ok since T4 is also from the CRA. but also add a note on why you are not giving them a notice of assessment. And also your paystubs if possible

"Is there more information you wish to share to support your relationship?" Did you make a detailed relationship story on a separate page (Both spouse and sponsor)?

I am sponsoring my husband. I wrote a four-page letter detailing our relationship, visiting routine, how we met, our wedding, etc.
