Now i dont get that part. do i do that before or is it just that paper she fils and i send it all at the same time..and there are 2 adreses one is in Alberta and another one in Ontario..each checklist i print out has diferent adress to send papers in. so which one is real one.

Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409)
I am sponsoring my common-law partner. Do I need to include this form?

No. This form is only for situations where two people who are common-law partners are sponsoring a third person (parent, child, etc). If you are sponsoring your common-law partner, this form does not apply to you and does not need to be included in your application. As said above, be sure to indicate clearly that it is not applicable.

Some applicants have been asked for this form by CIC at a later date, but the vast majority of applicants are not.

if you applying for sponsorship you don't have cosigner (it is only if you sponsoring kids parents etc I understand)

1. Because those are the rules (I'd recommend you spend time reading the instruction guide in detail). Failure to follow the application rules results in processing delays and sometimes even having your application returned as incomplete.
2. Yes - you'll need to have them translated.
3. No - you don't.
4. Yes - this will be fine.
5. Yes - the applications are independent of each other. If an interview is needed, then yes - she would have to fly back to attend. No - they won't schedule the interview at her convenience or be flexible. No - you can't convert an outland application to an inland. If you wish to switch, you have to withdraw the first application and then submit the new one (redoing all of the paperwork) and start the processing time from scratch.

That was very helpful thank you.

On a side note, it seems CIC updated the processing times page once again and once again it shows processing times by country after you select spouse living outside Canada. This is great news for some and disappointing to others.

True if there is a Co-Signer is and is a common-law , however CIC suggests to send it as a proof of Genuine Common-law relationship , in case applicants applying under common-law .

Canada Post is a national mail service, not a private courier. Private couriers are places like Fedex, UPS, Puralator, etc.

Hi! I'm Canadian and my husband is American. I'm sponsoring my husband via the Outland spousal sponsorship process. Our application is in "permanent residency progress". It's almost been 14 months now. How much longer does it take?
Please give us some advise.
Thank you.

The applicant has a child from a previous relationship who has not been medically examined.

There were a few other applicants from the US with a similar situation. I believe one of them was inland 2011, and I'm not sure if they have landed yet. There was another outland whose file was sent to LA, and I think they are into year 2 of waiting. Unfortunately, I don't believe it's going to be a fast process.

our application has gone to Ottawa. I was told by CIC that it's still within the timeframe for our sponsorship application.
