Yes...we got those intials on the email too. Just sent our police certificate today actually.

Is it advisable to send a renewed police certificate without the CIC asking for them? For e.g i know mines will expire on Jan 2017.. was thinking of having another one made by that day and sending it over to the visa office beforehand.. Is this advisable?

I think you shouldn't send it unless demanded by CIC. its better to wait for their request

i got my police certificate made in Aug and now I realised it was valid for 3 months only. oh God!!

Wot about educational documents? And do we need to get it attested from HEC and Ministry of Foreign Affairs? I did it for mine as I applied under FSWP. Do these also required for family sponsorship?
Moreover how to get appointment for upfront medical examination?

Send them neutralized copies of your educational documents. No need to get them attested from ministry of foreign affairs but I don't know about HEC. I did my degree from UK and didn't get it attested. To book medical appointment Email on this ID 'canmedpk @ iom.int' or Call 051-111-466-472.

Is upfront medical mandatory?? My agent is telling me they will ask for it later no need for upfront medical. I'm confused because I heard it is mandatory. Please guide.

Urs should be valid for 6 months total.. check ur photocopy what does it say? no need to worry, if they feel the need they will ask for it again..

It is a part of both the sponsor and applicant document checklist.. please get it done.. i think otherwise ur application will be deemed deficient and might be returned.. i think its wiser to have everything that is there in the checklist (and that applies to your application case) a part of your initial package...

looks like some people are confusing procedural fairness letters with doc requests. although we treat them the same on the spreadsheet, there's an important difference between the two.

a request for additional documents will begin with the phrase: "In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents", followed by a list of documents.

a procedural fairness letter (referred to as PFL in GCMS notes) will begin with the phrase: "It appears that you may not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act".

getting a request for additional documents is nothing to be alarmed about, however if you get a procedural fairness letter, this means the VO has some serious concerns regarding your case and that you need to think very carefully about how you're going to respond; simply sending in additonal proof of relationship may not be sufficient as they usually list a specific set of concerns that you will have to address.

By the way I'm the one April-2014 applicant who is still waiting for passport request but being advised that my file is current undergoing background check.!!! Allah knows that how much time they will take more of it. This is nothing but frustrating.

sorry to hear that. some people get stuck in lenghty background checks whereas for others they take up no more than 1-2 weeks. i really can't explain why this happens, but unfortunately background checks are out of the CIC's hands.

the sponsor should complain to the local MP and inform them that you're well beyond the posted processing time for pakistani applicants.

Police clearance certificates are not supposed to be valid for entire processing time of the application.
I think they ask for new Police clearance certificates to the applicants whose certificate was missing or about to expire at the time of submission of the application.

Its almost September now and they haven't even started 2016 applicants. :'(. And no news on the proposed changes as well. :-[
