I've applied for my wife's family sponsorship case and it's currently in process in London visa office, she had a 10 year multiple visit visa from the US and since her father works in the airlines she use to get free tickets to travel but I've already send all the travel history to the officer since she had frequent trips to the US but trip was never stayed for full 6 months or more then 6 months as I just cross checked her passports and it says 5 months and 12 days was the max trip. I'll share the question with you below please read and suggest if I should still send the clearernce to them since question says 6 months or more then 6 months.

FBI Clearernce: If your residence period in the US has been 6 months or longer the since the age of 18, provide an orignal FBI clearernce certificate.

But on cic website it says if you applied for a permanent resident case you need to submit FBI clearernce.

Please advise.

Why would she need FBI clearance? is she declaring herself as US resident in the forms? the resident obligation lies on those who live more than six months in a country no matter whatever their nationality is. As you have mentioned your wife has lived less than six months in US, therefore no need to write US address or to get the FBI clearance. She would always be considered as visitor.

But in worst case scenario you have to get the FBI clearance then she has to apply through local police station where she had resided in USA.

Hello people...
Can someone pls share their experience for cases where the sponsors were living outside Canada throughout the application was in process?
We applied in sept 2014 and my husband (sponsor) is living in karachi with me up untill today. The ecas shows us status in process. The last conversation we had with cic was in July 15 when they requested us for additional docs, since then we haven't heard anything back from them. I hope things are going in the right direction.

I am the sponsor and have been living with my wife in Karachi, Pakistan since 2006. We applied in first week of Aug 2014, submitted updated IMM1344 form in Sep, thus the CIC considered application as complete since Sep 10, 2014. My wife had her re-med on May 28, 2015, case went in process on Aug 10, 2015, then a big silence until yesterday we received another re-med request.

We suspect either they have lost results of our first re-med or IOM-Karachi never sent it to LVO/NDVO.

As April files are in process now and its pretty obvious that they may be reviewing the April files because some March applicants have already received decision made on their ECAS.. Any idea when we will be getting good news?? Fingers crossed and praying

So far 2015 cases have gone from "in process" to decision made in as little as 3 days and up to 3 weeks (on average).

So we could get decision made next week but I think it will be most likely by the end of October, after they finish March cases and some remaining 2014 cases.

But hopefully sooner!

Yes I had the same estimated time in my mind.. they are working on 2014 and 2015 cases parallel

Yes. And also my ecas updated again yesterday. First it was just showing "in process". Now when I click the link there is an additional line added saying they started processing on June 23. I think that is when they added the file to the queue and just a few days ago they started to actually process it.
