Thank you @ sulemanmirza and @ ipoo for your prompt responses.

Next question:
How does one get a certified copy of CNIC. He has the new version of the card in English. Must he get it certified by a notary?

Any "Notary Public" can certify the copy of original document. Make sure their stamp should read the phrase “I certify that this is a true copy of the original document."

Can someone please explain what is COPR used for? so i understand its a temporary PR card.
When you do receive the actual PR card?
While you have the COPR, are you still considered a permanent resident and are you entitled to the same rights as a permanent resident?

COPR stands for Confirmation Of Permanent Residence. This document comes with the stamped passport.
As soon as someone cross the border with COPR, the individual would have the same rights as Canadian citizen, except to vote.
The processing time for PR is 85 calendar days based on the compete package (This time applies if you have provided your mailing address in Canada).

I inboxed you. DM on july 14 and in process since July 9. That's all

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

When they ask for 9 recent photos of the applicant, do these photos have to be the of the required dimensions as stated in the Photo Specifications page. Can some of these 9 photos be other sizes as well? Like would random pictures do? Or all 9 must be taken by a photographer and be of the required dimensions?

You cannot take random photos. It must be taken by photographer, with studio stamp on the back. Applicant name as well. The pictures must be same dimension as it states in the guide
