Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Thankyou so very much for your response..
Really appreciate..

But can u pls tell me what do u mean when you say that he will get COPR and a single entry visa? Whats a single entry visa?
Also, you sure about the temporarily visa thing? Because I have heard of it from two people but can't find any authentic info about it..

Secondly, when you say that I need to support him for 2 years when he lands here in Canada and also dont need any job or particular bank balance, how can I support him? and above all how I can make the immigration office believe me that I will be able to support him financially and he will not need any social assistance..

Please help

Thanks,
Amna

I received my Passport Request today.

Congrats! Please let me know when your status will change to DM on ECAS?
Yes, its pretty bizarre how the VO fails to regularly update ECAS and many people are regularly checking for status updates. :(

Hey..
I am a Permanent Resident in Canada and am already engaged. My fiance is in Pakistan and we are thinking of getting married in this Dec so that I can file the paper work in January.
I am a bit confused about few things and would be really thankful if u can help.

Im currently a York University Student and I'm taking OSAP for my studies, can I still sponsor my spouse?
Is there a condition that I should be on a job and have a certain amount of bank balance etc?
Also, how long will it take to sponsor him so that he can come to Canada?
I have heard that recently the laws have been changed, and thus now when he will come after suppose 2 and a half years, he will get a temporarily visa and not a Permanent Visa.. Is this true?
If he will get a temporarily visa, can he still do his MBA from Canada, pay the domestic fees, and can also receive OSAP funding for his studies?
With a temporarily visa, is he eligible to work in Canada?

I know these are a lot of questions...
But would be extremely grateful if you can help..

Thanks,
Amna

1: Yes, u can file application after marriage in dec, get nikka naama, wedding pics, ur plane ticket, all evidences of marriage etc....
2: Yes, U can sponsor while getting OSAP (osap is not a social assisstance)
3: No bank balance required. u can apply with 0 balance
4: u can apply even u don't have job
5: Recently London Visa Office deal with Pakistani spousal sponsorship applications, whole process take less than an year
6: incase there is 51 condition on copr then u have to stay together for 2 years after pr
7: Domestic fees will apply to him from day 1 after landed immigrant. schulich is expensive even domestic fee
8: He has to stay 1 year in Ontario to be eligible for osap.
8: He will be eligible to work right after getting his SIN. that he can get in 10 minutes from service canada
have a great long weekend, enjoy coffee in second cup, York lane, no more open mic on Friday thou

COPR is a Certificate of Permanent Residence previously it was called Landing Paper and single entry visa is stamped on the passport through which a would be PR can enter in Canada. Way back there was no such thing, like in my case in year 2000, I only got Landing Paper through which I travelled to Canada.

I assume you are confused with COPR and TRV (temporary resident visa), which is altogether a different thing. People do apply for it when they feel the Spousal Sponsorship is taking too long or those people who are on visit/student visa and already in Canada want to prolong their stay. So, in your fiance's case, unfortunately 95% chances are he won't get it, but he can try though. You can check CIC's website for the details. So the best for both of you is to get married first collect all the evidences, keep your airline ticket stubs and then apply for the Spousal Sponsorship.

Once your would be hubby lands in Canada he will become PR and at the immigration desk will get his SIN, therefore he can start working from the same day. I actually wanted to say that if God forbids he ends up seeking financial assistance (welfare etc.) from Govt. before two years, he will not be entertained and Govt will remind you of your sponsorship agreement.

Actually the two year agreement is a assurance Govt seeks from both PR and sponsor that the PR will not come at its doors for financial assistance (welfare sort of things), however PR is under no obligation to depend on sponsor, he can start earning from day one. Rest of the questions are already answered.

Call logs, fb messages, whatsapp texts, any screenshots taken during skype etc. If sponsor visited the applicant, then entry exit stamps or boarding pass or tickets. Any pix taken together during the visit. Gift receipts. Proof if any money sent.

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Hi everyone. Here is my timeline:

Applied in september 2014
File transfer to LVO in october 2014
Ecas was last updated in november 2014 with meds reveived and decision made under the sponsorship status.
Now I received an email requesting additional documents and the right of permanent resident fee. I wanted to know what the next step is for me and what is currently happening with my application.

Also if I order CAIPS notes, are they useful at all? What can they tell me?
