Oh is it 17 months from the time the file started processing at ndvo? I thought it was 17 months from the time they make a note of him being called for an interview? So will they only send a letter once they have a date or do they send a letter telling you u are on waiting for an interview date? And then send the date later?
Yes he is indian passport but residing in new zealand on work permit so can he give his interview in new zealand or will he have to travel to India?

The total application processing time is 17 months. Your application passed 14 months. I think your husband will get an email for interview with in 3 months. To me I think he will need to come India for his interview. If you get no email after 3 months you can email New Delhi to know about your application condition.

Thanks Farhana for the response. You have really relieved my mind. People were saying they take 17 or 24 months to just call for an interview!! And I was really heart broken! Ure pretty sure that they call for an interview within the 17 month time frame that they give?

My husband applied spouse immigration visa 11 June 2014 and my file transfer Canada from Singapore 10 August 2014. 11 September 2014 Singapore sends me an email about my interview and there they mention my interview waiting time is 24 months. When I saw online now a days the application processing time 17 month for all country. That time (17 January 2016) my application passed already 16 month and I wrote a letter Singapore to know the condition about my application. Singapore replied me I am pending for my interview and the interview waiting time is 24 month. I was so disappoint that time but after one month later (17 February 2016) they send me an email for my interview. I got interview letter (17 February 2016) after 17 month and I faced my interview within 18 month (The date of the interview 14 March 2016).

Hello Sam,
I know you are very happy and excited. I think Turkish Airline is good because the transit time is only 1 hour 30 mine. You can also buy a Saudi airline ticket and the transit time is only 4 hours. I see in this form after interview then one month later they request for re-medical, if re-medical has done then one month later they request the passport then again one month later they issue visa. I am not feeling good because today I go to my re-medical and when we came back home the clinic call me again because one test is still need then I again go to the clinic. This is really ridiculous. You think it is wise to take extra person with you in the interview? IMO I wouldn't take nobody with me but prepare everyone in my family and expect a phone call from them. Cause I think it's less nerve racking to talk on the phone than face to face.

Hello fellow forum members,

I am posting this post today to get some help. I had recently requested my husband's sponsorship application notes from GCMS. I got them 2 days ago and the notes say recommended for interview and the date if posted as 01/04/2016 so January 04 is when they had decided that he is to be called for interview. But until now we have not even received any correspondence from the Immig. to inform us that we are going to be interviewed and when we will be interviewed. Can you guys help me out and tell me how long did it approximately take for you guys to receive your interview letter after you saw E-cas status as in process or if any of you requested your notes and found out earlier that an interview is required...how long after the date on the notes did you get the interview letter? Any Feb 2015 applicants get an interview letter yet??
Also, my husband lives in New Zealand as he is on work permit but his file is being processed in NDVO. So does he have to go there to do the interview or can they do it in New Zealand as well?

Are you from India? I think your husband may be facing his interview Indian Canadian High Commission. Your husband needs to be wait 17 months. You said your file transfer may 2015. Your application passed 11months. May be your husband need to more wait 6 months to face his interview.

Isn't the interview waiting time varies depending on the Visa office? New Delhi can have higher or lower waiting time than Singapore I think.

You will have the interview in your visa office where they transfer your file. So in that case it is New Delhi.

Farhana's timeline and my timeline might not match with your case cause our visa office is Singapore and yours New Delhi. You can check my timeline under my username. We applied in 2013 and in 2016 we finish with re medical. Another 1-2 months more till visa will be issued. I think New Delhi will be much faster than Singapore.

Hello all,

I would like to take this opportunity to raise my doubts about spouse application


Back in 2011-12, I was in uk as a student

My visa got expired in 15th October 2011
I applied for student visa extension on 14th oct 2011,
But my studies are going to over in November 2011, results to be available in January 2012

My tier 4, application is refused in December 2011,
Appeal applied & hearing date feb 2012,

Before the appeal hearing, I became eligible to apply tier 1 (completed my studies)

So I have applied tier 1 on 7th February 2012.

Appeal results came as dismissed on 25th February 2012,

But I have withdrawn further appeal and confirm with home office to consider my new application

After 5months my application is void by home office stating I have pending appeal hence we are unable to process & this appeal could brought in!! Under 3c & 3D section

I totally dissatisfied with the results, so I'm not intent to stay back in uk cuz of personal reason

So I decided to come back,

I booked my own tickets and landed to my country within the time frame of 28days on 5th July 2012.

Now, My wife is sponsoring me to Canada,

Canadian embassy consider this is a criminal offense to stay in other country as a over stayed!!!

But I'm not over stayed at all...

Question for you:
Did she already applied for you?
Did she hire a lawyer?

If you have a lawyer, explain everything to him in details and tell him to write an explanation regarding your overstay situation and attach it with your application. If your spouse dealing with the application then she should write the explanation along with the application and mail it to Mississauga Case Processing Center.

When she will get the approval as a sponsor and your file will transfer to Singapore then she can email to the Singapore visa office with your UCI number and explain your overstayed situation again in details.

It can be a tricky situation and you don't want to haunted by this in future so act smart. This forum is just a guideline for basic queries. You should seek professional advice for complex situation like you cause at the end it's your application will be on jeopardy.
