To link my OPW I tried everyday once with name and date of birth and once with UCI and name, but now I can't remember which one worked. They received my OWP on October 19th and I was able to link it on November 30th.
Have you called cic? It's weird that you applied in august and you still haven't heard anything about your OPW

What was your status when you applied? If you were holding some status, I suggest giving CIC a call and ask them what is going on..

Hi, we were in the same boat. We received the AOR on Jan 23 and linked the application on Jan 24.

What worked for me was using UCI and application number, and in the number of applicants include yourself in the count: for us it was 1 sponsor and 1 applicant, o 2. Don't fill out anything else and click submit. You will see little red arrows indicating what you should still fill out. After following instructions, click submit again.

From what I've heard, no two cases are the same but this is what worked for us.

Thanks! I actually put 2 in the number of applicants. I should just leave everything else blank then? The city of birth, passport, etc?

Hello all!

One quick question. My wife has a visitor visa valid until 2020 and she recently got her Work Permit. Can she leave the country and get back with the visitor visa and work permit or does she needs to apply for a work visa (so the sticker on the passport says work visa instead of visitor visa)??

I had to re send mine for missing fees and it was received October 19th. I just tried linking it everyday and on November 30th it worked. The only email I received about my OWP was 2 weeks ago saying I had to wait for approval in principle because I was out of status

October 26th applicant here and haven't heard anything yet. I linked mine back in December when I got my AOR. I've been keeping a close eye on my account though, hoping we get the email soon!!!

Why? When you still have a work permit till FEBRUARY, and you are not out of status.

I'm on IEC open work permit but apparently it doesn't work the same as normal visa an agent told me last week.

Hey if your WP expires in Feb you're not out of status yet. Sorry but your story is a little confusing... People here are trying to help, can you tell us when did you submit your PR? Did you had WP denied? Who told you that you're out of status and you cannot apply for a WP?

I applied for PR in August 2017. I have a open work permit on IEC until middle of February. But got told last week by a agent that I will have implied status to remain in Canada but not to work. Apparently u can't have applied status and work with IEC.

Hey Guys, I have a question for ETA holders , My spouse is arrived in Canada on ETA (as being from Visa Exempt) and now approved OWP and has to leave Canada due to family issue , he has approved OWP email which received 2 days ago and having an ETA which received when entered in Canada as a Visitor which will expire in 2020 so my spouse will again receive new ETA as status is changed to worker from visitor? as per my understanding but did not receive any email for new ETA yet? what should he do ? will he need to reapply ETA to re-enter in Canada ? Please advice .

Yes he will receive a new ETA with an OWP status. Wait till he gets the OWP, which will be in a week, then yes he can leave and come back. Search for my previous post on what our situation was like. I've personally experienced this situation.
