If your old package is complete, send that. You can do so until Jan 15 I believe?

EDIT: as part of the inland proceaa, you will have to show cohabitation proof. That's what that's asking for. You can submit without, but they will demand to see proof eventually.

If you're applying inland, add the OWP ($255) to the application. This will give him implied status as a visitor until they send the OWP.

Yes and that is the stuff we don't have (of course). He's been here since July just on a visitor visa and we've been married since October but we haven't put his name together with mine on any important documents yet. Do you figure that if we explain that and let them know we would provide them with proof when available, they would still process the app without it and just request more info later?

Regarding inland or outland, that's another new thing we are debating. Originally were going to do outland but now with processing times the same for both inland may be a better choice (OWP option plus no risk of having to fly back for interview)

It's possible to apply. But expect an interview and for them to paw through your evidence with greater scrutiny.

If you apply inland, then you can get the OWP, no heading back for interview, and you both can build your life together as you planned. Share little updates with CIC after you apply.

The OWP permits your spouse to get a temporary SIN. This can help you to build proofs.

But also keep in mind, you really only have to show you live together when you're married. They may ask for proof that you've integrated your finances/policies/etc. But that is given less credance.

No...they process the forms that were valid when you applied. Occasionally they will ask you to complete a new form--but really it's only if you missed info on it, or used an outdated form when you applied. The new application is for new applicants. They are also still accepting the old forms until January 31st.

Submitted application for my Spousal on Sept 30
Received email notification on Nov 2 saying in process for both application
Visitor Visa extension submitted on Sept 30
Visitor Visa extension received on Dec 23

Yes we have everything documented with pics and Facebook posts and all that but nothing that officially has both of our names like they are now requiring (joint ownership of property, joint utilities accounts, etc) They need at least two of the three of those things I mentioned in my original post with the new app package and we just so happen to have none of the three aha
