Landing is the process of becoming a PR. Until you have landed, you are a temporary resident. So, at the very end of the process, there is a landing interview -- this is where you will be granted your PR.
The general area question is relating to approximate area in Canada. Example, I know that my wife's local VO is Kitchener, and she will land there. Here is a list of local offices: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/help.asp . Different VO's have different rates for how long they typically take to process visas.
In terms of documents, those two aren't part of the document requests that have come out of the SIR. Did you respond quickly to those two documents being requested? When did they drop the note on your file about SIR? It was probably recent...
