I got the same message about my wife's PCC. I called the CIC and they tried to look into it. Also could not find any trace of the message sent. They told me not to do anything until they tried to look into the email and the file (as her PCC original was also sent in). We have already made an appointment with the consulate to get another PCC, in the case that they cannot seem to find it.

888-242-2100. I never have luck with getting through to an agent, unless I try the 'Sponsor your spouse...' option. The agents who answer the pre-application questions seem to be able to access files and send messages internally as well.

Okay just off the phone about the PCC request letter, the agent at CIC said they have been getting so many calls about these today (surprise surprise) clarification has been sought, this is now their advice..."these letters are reminder letters, if you have not supplied the documents requested, to do so for the next stage of your application, we draw your attention to the line that states if you have not already done so.." The agent then went on to say if I was still worried then send back a CSE stating it was in the orginal application.

I'm not sure if AIP can help one get a health card.

Do you have a OWP? It can be used to get an health card in Alberta. However, the card had validity until the expiration of your work permit. Nevertheless, it serves the purpose.

Strange thing for them to say at the end there, obviously everybody is going to be still worried. Those PCC can be a real pain to get. I wonder if any of these hardworking CIC staff check out this forum from time to time.

Hey guys,

My wife who I'm sponsoring got a letter from the CIC yesterday asking her to provide the following:

1- Police Certificate for all countries she lived in when she was above 18 years old.
2- Birth certificate for our son (who is also included in the application) and a proof of custody.

They requested to send the documents to CIC Processing office in Vergville as well.

I'm surprised that the above documents were requested as they were all sent with the original documents back in April. Is it something to do with the expiry date of the certificates because they all expire within 3 months from the date of issue.

Also, I'm not sure why I have to send my son's birth certificate again and why do they require a proof of custody? I didn't send one in the first place and I'm not sure why it is required. Does anyone else have the same situation? Thanks.

Just finished talking to CIC agent and i read this to her. "The Email i received"

If you have not yet submitted the following documents, you must submit them to this office:
Police Certificate(s)

Police certificates for the every country in which you and any dependants, whether accompanying or
not, have resided for at least 6 months or more during the past 10 years, or since the age of 18,
whichever comes first. For instructions on how to obtain the correct police certificate required, you
must visit www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp.
As per our records, you have not submitted the required police certificates from the country(ies) listed
below:

Applicant name : Macau SAR

I told the agent the i've already submitted, included it in my inland application.

She emphasized this one to me:

"If you have not yet submitted the following documents, you must submit them to this office: Police Certificate(s)"

So it's up to me now to send one again or send an explanation letter.
no need to worry if you already submitted it.


but my main concern is as per their record i did not submitted a police certificate.

+1 to that. i understand the 'if you havent yet submitted' but why then say' our records show you havent submitted.. blah blah blah.'

so frustrating!! i sent in a case specific enquiry yesterday when i got the email so will see what i hear back from that. although there is an auto response to the CSE saying i wont get a reply if my application is WITHIN normal processing times so will i just get an email saying ' go to www.cic for more info' lol

I really dont know whats going on.

I do have a certified true copy of my PCC, i shipped it via fedex going to CPC vegreville including the explanation letter stating i've already submitted it before.

After that phone call with CIC today I'm happy, I had already sent the CSE yesterday anyways. Its just civil servant double talk in the letter.

Umm can anyone help me with this quote? Are we suppose to apply for a SIN after receiving the OWP? I thought that the 9 numbers on the top right of the OWP was what is used for the SIN. My wife has a second interview this saturday for a position and I thought we had our ducks in a row...

It will start with a '9' signifying it is temporary. Once you get PR you'll apply for a new SIN number. Don't worry about the interview, they're not going to ask for your SIN number right then or expect you to have it on you. She will eventually need it when they sign a contract though.

Thanks Polar! I was stressing because I had no idea they issue it on the spot I should have looked into this before but when I saw the 9 digits on the permit I assumsed we were in the clear. Thanks a ton for clearing this up we'll make a mad dash for Service Canada tomorrow!

Did you try entering the number of people in the application as 2? You count the sponsor and the applicant, obviously if you have children you would add them in as well. Zumbagirl posted earlier about this and it worked for me right away!
