Wishful thinking for us, but alas won't happen. The security/background check involve the Russian Federation. Getting them to do anything is a painful, comedy-filled process. But, hey, anything could happen -- that would make our Christmas! 8)
We discussed this before..let me stress right now, to EVERYONE, this is my own personal view, I have no basis for it, beyond a hunch.

I think those that got the latest PCC letters, are the last batch selected for streamlining in the program, looking at how things have happened, these are my thoughts. They analysed and selected applications from late 2015 firstly and then Jan to March 2016 secondly to fast track after announcing the program..not just people on this site remember, ALL Inland spousal applicants in that time frame would have been assessed. Those applications they selected at that time are nearing completion or have been completed.

They are now looking at the last period left from late March/ April to june the 13th, just as in the first 2 batches, I believe the first sign of streamlining is that PCC letter, to ensure NOTHING can hold up processing. (If you look back through the 2016 thread you will see posters querying these same letters, then 2-3 months later, things happen in their applications)

A lot of my hunch is based on my own application date of 3rd June, if successful and I make it into streamlining, I would be in the last batch.

I actually think the Streamlining could only focus on 2016 applications and some late 2015 applications, as these would be the ones when completed to throw the processing time frame figures out and show the program was a success (I'm thinking like a civil servant, having to show results to a minister).

I'm not trying to crush peoples hopes, god knows I know what you are going through, and I could be talking through the brown hole at the other end of my body, but I don't think I am.

Yeah, coming on a forum, I had a hunch that only CIC would have the ultimate answers ;). I do agree with what you are saying. Considering they are pushing another 12,000 applications through for Spousal Sponsorships, it would make sense. But, that would be a significant decrease in processing times. Applying and being accepted in the same year!

I agree, at the very least what this program will do, is take a hefty chunk off the processing time, taking all those applications out of the system, completed. I still bet around a 12 month reduction in processing times announced in Jan. While we all know the processing times mean nothing, if they announce 14 months, then we know at 14 months we can start stomping our feet and making a fuss if we are not completed, at present we have no choice but to wait until 26 months.

I'm coming up on 60 days from the request of my PCC (June 17) so I'll let you know if the same pattern emerges with my application. Some people in that batch already have AIP though, so I'm not sure if we can derive anything from this info. The response letter after sending the PCC is signed 'Inland FC Initiative' which I hope means streamlining.

I don't claim to have any answers...like I said..these are my hunches..but they make sense if you think like a bureaucrat who suddenly has to assess and process an additional 34,000 applications in 6 months, it wouldn't surprise me if the " initial selection" was done by computer programmed to select applications with certain parameters.

I would say the giveaway is if a bunch of you share dates/requests etc...that to me could be an indicator of being part of the streamlining....but we only know that because of the forum, if we only had the emails sent to us to go on, we wouldn't know a bunch of others share our dates.

It is also possible, and indeed based on what you are saying, probable, that once they get your individual response to the PCC they start processing on a first come first served basis, rather than waiting the 60 days (which does kind of make sense..why have everyone who is processing twiddling their thumbs for 60 days)...hence some having AIP, also don't forget individual application specifics start to come into play...lets say you must get 3 countries approve your PCC's and clear you for the background check (i'm taking the background check as an example, it could be any part of the process)...nothing happens until that happens. Or your particular country is slooowww..again you are held until they get background check. Then you have someone from the USA...who gets cleared in say 2 weeks..(i have no idea how long it takes, I am just plucking that out of the air).

I responded by mail because that's what it asked for in the letter (to Vegreville) and they sent an email ~3 weeks later saying they received it. But since then it has become clear that doing a CSE online is fine as well. They only requested the PCC one time. The response to a CSE is only going to be something like 'we can confirm the receipt of documents'

I think what is being asked is...did you send a new PCC?

Or just a letter stating they have it already.

The thing is that AIP is a stage before background checks even occur (meaning barring some bad results on your medical or security checks, you are approved). So unless they were planning on jumping right to 'decision made' like our friend ImmiGeek I don't see what efficiency there is in organizing the applications like that. If they were waiting on results from other countries or INTERPOL or whatever it is that they do, that would mean the application was already past AIP. They wouldn't waste their time doing a background check for an application which might have other problems. And actually I hope this is the case with my application.

Printout of the letter they sent me + Letter written and signed by myself stating they had the original PCC already + photocopy of the PCC that was originally sent

...they doing my background check right now, and I have no SA, AIP..nothing , they actually started the check BEFORE they sent the PCC letter.

I sent in my pre-application medical (did it now, as even a monkey can see it is not going to take longer than a year now) with a CSE, the day I got back confirmation they had sent it on to the dept dealing with me....security check started. 12 days later I got PCC email.

So either I have SA and AIP and it's a secret and I'm in fact in the last stage before decision made (impossible, my application is only 2 months 12 days old) or they really are doing stages out of sequence.

I applied for the files GCMS notes yesterday under the privacy act, so give it 31 days I can tell you with certainty whats going on.

I did the same with you. Followed the procedures on the email on how to reply. Explanation letter plus the certified true copy of my PCC attached to it send to vegreville. I used fedex, how about yours? Is that the unit 909 CPC vegreville?

Confusing, I agree. Doing the stages out of sequence only makes sense if they are willing to waste some resources running background checks on people who potentially don't have a valid application, which of course is also possible. Who knows. Looking forward to what you can divine from your notes.

I used Canada Post, but shouldn't make a difference. Yes, the same Unit 909.

Thank you polarvolcano for sharing your information. Please update us if anything come up regarding that 2nd time PCC request of yours.
