Long story short, I was doing some tile removal for my sister that resulted in a bad deep cut that wouldn't stop bleeding, and a dislocation of the last portion of a pinky. They had to use a torniquet at the hospital to be able to treat it (they told me they'd try that before amputation). Cutting the flow off seems to have worked.??? What? Losing finger tip?
Ouch.... I hope you'll recover well!Long story short, I was doing some tile removal for my sister that resulted in a bad deep cut that wouldn't stop bleeding, and a dislocation of the last portion of a pinky. I wouldn't have bothered, but @meaningful1 needed an expedient answer.
Yeah that's no good. Glad it's only something that's transient. We got a little worried when mom (an advanced wound care instructor to boot!) couldn't slow it down. The sad part: I took a chunk of skin from the ring finger where my ring sits... So I have a bandaid for a ring! That's what I get for trying to keep the mess in my sister's kitchen to a minimum... We switched to a big hammer afterOuch.... I hope you'll recover well!
I have my little own story as well. We were celebrating my dad yesterday and what could be a better gift for a dad than to see his son losing consciousness and crashing on the ground? My wife thought I just died... but 10-15 seconds later, I was back! Still I was transported to the hospital in ambulance. Few hours later, I was released. Apparently it was a vasovagal syncope... nothing serious. First time of my life losing consciousness. That happened during the dinner and the worst is that didn't get any dessert!
I wouldn't travel. Once you get a COPR it's another 2.5 mos or so to having a PR Card. In necessary circumstances you can, but it can be problematic. If it's US and driving to and from, if you carry proofs with you it should be ok without a PR Card...Thanks, this is what I thought, but just wanted to hear it reinforced back from someone. When I did request her notes last month to see what was going on, I did see an annotation of "Application identified for streamlined eligibility processing and is part of the 2016 inventory reduction exercise ...:" not sure if application processing for 2nd half of 2016 is speeding up due to the new 12 month processing.
Also quick question, my employer when I submitted sponsor application is not my current employer. Infact, I was going with job-offer-1 when I was doing the sponsor application, but something didn't work out and I went with job-offer-2. In the field of work I am in, its common, and there are easy wants to confirm I work and live in Canada, but when I called CIC, they said nothing needs to be done for updating anything. Can this be a problem?
Once we have SA/AIP, is it safe to travel with existing OWP / TRV? What happens with DM & landing .. do we get a paper in mail and have to show up somewhere? Or can we leave country and re-enter?
I am not impatient, but at some point wife's work is going to demand she show up in office for a meeting I just want to be prepared for that day.

So you're holding because of the kids I bet. If you cannot do the medical, you must provide proof that you tried to do so. That's why they stopped processing.Hello,
I am December 2015 applicant, my application was transferred to Etobicoke Office back there on May 15th. We tried to get back to our MP but they are not responding to either our calls or emails, however, the lady on behalf of MP assured us that she will get back to us within the week. There is no changes on my CIC or ECAS since 2015. SA was approved in Jan 2017, Medical done in Jan 2017 too. However, the CIC is asking for my dependent kids (from my ex husband) Medical examination which i am unable to provide in the meantime unless I visit my home country which i cannot as I lost my status in canada as well as I need a visa for reentry. my question how long it is going to take more for DM, as I feel to give up and cancel my application. It's been three years I am away from my kids. The stress that we are carrying is immense and if they are planning to refuse the Visa then what is the use of wasting more time???????
Oh yes, we did provide all the necessary explanation even under affidavit each time they asked. I considered 8 months completed on July 15th, 2017 already. I dont have it written form, because that even i-e, the written from my ex, will never happen. Anyhow, I am at the stage to have just a DM in hand. We did receive anything yet from Etobicoke to know what exactly they are looking for. Thanks Slyvain for Response..Etobicoke is a very busy office which makes it slow to give appointment. It's common to have to wait 7-8 weeks. You are in that time window, so I presume you will hear soon from them.
Regarding the medical exam of your kids, you have to prove you did reasonable efforts to have them examined. If your ex husband refused and you have it in a written form, send that to CIC. They might wave the medical exam for them (it's at the discretion of CIC), however you will never be allowed to sponsor them to come to Canada if they are not examined now.
Not sure what the interview will be about. You will have a better idea when you will receive the appointment and the list of document to bring.
I bet that too... Thanks Profiler... I feel i must not wait longer if that is the case... I know I may have 1 % chance of having PR, but prolong period of wait is not bearable for my kids anymore. They need their mother and I have to be there for them for their intellectual growth, support. They already belong to a broken family and this is making it worst for them. Just hoping that they will not waste more of our time if they already deciding in refusing it... this will make it easier for all of us and for them too I hope...So you're holding because of the kids I bet. Even if your ex refuses, show CIC the refusal.
If you show proof that you can't do the medical, they'll probably land you fast...the rest is probably done.I bet that too... Thanks Profiler... I feel i must not wait longer if that is the case... Oops, sorry to hear that, could you BTW see any aurora yesterday? I see that at 3 AM it was as high as 90% here in Southern AB but there was moon.Long story short, I was doing some tile removal for my sister that resulted in a bad deep cut that wouldn't stop bleeding, and a dislocation of the last portion of a pinky. Apparently tonight is when the geomagnetic storm hits. Last night it was solar radiation. Tonight should be better to view it...Oops, sorry to hear that, could you BTW see any aurora yesterday? I see that at 3 AM it was as high as 90% here in Southern AB but there was moon.
