Josh send the receipt from the bank

Hi guys immigration asked me to send my libreta militar the problem is that I don't have it and it takes approximately 5 months to get it and I have to pay a penalty I am so stress

Hi humblee

Since I did not do the process through Omnitempus or G4S Colombia. I did not pay to a bank. I did mine through the police office which I paid there. I did send the proof of payment from the police office with the documents.Which is the same as going through those other companies. so I think I might have to redo it. When either Omnitempus or G4S does the background check do they translate it to English? I read that its required.

I am not familiar with Colombia and the process from there but I hope just with showing them you have applied for it should be ok.

MarCar,
Maybe this could help you http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-and-the-curious-case-of-sections-161c-t383143.0.html
I don't think you should be worried.
I'm waiting for my notes and/or any email from the VO requesting documents.
Hope you're doing fine. ;D

Thanks JJ! :D

Could it mean that they are just doing security?... cause the notes say eligibility, criminality and medicals passed... but security still in progress :) i hope they dont take long :'(

Good luck to all of us Bogota VO applicants! ;D

Hey guys, we just sent the application last week and it was received today in Mississauga according to the DHL website. What are the next steps that we should expect? Do they send an email saying they've received it? Then after this they do the sponsor approval which takes about 40 days on average?

We didn't send the police checks as those weren't requested. I imagine these are requested a lot further along in the process.

Hi Beeo08! Welcome to the group!

The certificate for Colombia you need to wait for request.

For Mexico you should follow the steps posted on CIC website and get started... don't need wait :)

Hope it helps and good Luck! :)

Hey Beeo08,
Based on my experience with my application timeline, you should expect AOR1 in about a month, this one will say that they received your application. Then SA like a week later, will say if your eligible to sponsor your spouse. Both emails will be sent to you, so check you junk mail once in a while.
AOR2 will arrive to your spouse's email maybe a month later, this one will tell you that your application arrived to Bogota VO.
So as MarCar said, welcome to our group and enjoy the waiting ride. ;D
Good luck and I hope your process goes fast and smooth!
Keep us posted!

Thanks guys! Yeah it seems like it might be a good idea to get started on the Mexico check as soon as we get a file number. We'll need that first obviously.

Thanks as well for the timeline. Hopefully we have that by the end of July then. Fingers crossed.

Question: When does one receive the file number? I imagine this happens after sponsor approval and when they start working on the applicant's application?

On the AOR1 letter, you'll receive a File Number and UCI, with either of these two and your info you will be able to log in to ECAS. Your wife will receive another File Number and UCI with AOR2, with these two she can also log in to ecas but with her information.
Best of luck! ;D
