question 1: The form IM 1344 (application to sponsor) is not downloading. it just says to "Please wait.......download adobe" i downloaded the latest version and still doesnt show anything. how do i get that form? Also, other forms are pretty much visible and fillable from the adobe reader i have.

If you are using Chrome, try using Explorer, or some other internet browser. Or right click the link and directly "save as"

Question 3: me and my wife have been living together since Jan 2012. if i'm the co-signer, can i include my income for 2010,2011? or does it has to be for the years the wife and husband are together?
eligibility to sponsor is very stringent this time. it might sound that 5000 will fill up quickly but i dont think so. well pay stubs instead of NOA should work. but usually CIC looks at each case individually and a lot will depend on the authenticity of the employer issuing pay stubs as well.

As co-signer you can use your income right back to 2010. Paystubs will not even be looked at. CIC stated very clearly that NOA or Option Cs are the ONLY documents they will look at for income proof. Any other proofs will be disregarded. The whole point of these new stricter rules is to speed up processing.

Also the 5000 cap is most likely already filled by now. A report a few weeks ago showed it was filling up quickly and was probably filled 1 or 2 weeks ago.
So you are free to send in your app also, but realistically be prepared to have it returned and to re-send in January 2015.

Still no change on CIC website about the cap being filled already.
This means people can still mail it in, as there are many whose packages are being returned for missing signatures, docs, etc
While the acceptance rate may be high, so is the rejection rate.......

It's easy to miss a signature when there's so many damn forms to complete.
Why couldn't they just include everything in IMM-8 and have everyone sign it at the end......it would be so much easier for everyone.

When I say it's most likely filled, I mean there are probably more than enough applications already received by CPC-M that will make up the 5000 cap. From that articale that was posted they had almost 10K apps received in total and that was several weeks ago. They can only do initial assessments of so many hundreds of apps per day, and have thousands more sitting in a mail room waiting to be opened. Anyone who applies now will go to the back of that pile.

I think it has to do with making sure everyone knows what they are signing. While having to sign one document which covers everything can cause problems. One could claim that one of the forms was not the same as the one they sent in, especially when it comes to lawyers, consultants, etc. By making everyone sign the individual forms, make each one form an authentic signed form with assumption by signing it, it is filled with accurate info and you cannot later come back to claim that the form was not the same form you sent in.

it means they will have to mail back a lot of packages which didn't make the cut, for whatever reasons.

5000 applications roughly mean 9000 visas.......including spouses and kids, etc of the sponsored parents.

The Govt must maintain a high number of admittance each year, otherwise the backlog will remain......

They released today that by the end of 2014 they will welcome an additional 20,000. parents and grandparents to Canada from the PGP program . Thats a lot of Visa's, and thats with 5,000 applicants.

That 20,000 includes those from previous years. I wonder just how many of this year's intake will be processed by year end.

my guess is none. lol If they keep up the processing at current levels of the backlog applications, in 2 years they will clear the backlog of PGP apps from before 2011. My guess is they will start 1st stage processing for 2014 applications in Mississauga in mid-late 2015 early 2016. I think first decisions on the 2014 PGP applications from VO will come late in 2017 early 2018. This is all estimates of course based on how many applications they processed in 2012 for PGP.

I dunno guys, a lot of visa offices in 3rd world countries are still sitting on applications from 2007 onwards, not sure why they're not giving them visas already, how much longer do they want these parents to wait?
Offices like New Delhi, Islamabad, Singapore, etc have big backlogs on PGP applications. I doubt if they will get 2014 apps any faster, lol

Any stats on how many GRANDPARENTS actually are coming to Canada? Most of them in many countries do not want to come here, lol

I do not think the "20,000 parent / grandparent visas issued" count for this year will include anyone who submitted an application in 2014. It's all going to be backlog. IMO there's no way CIC is going to process parent / grandparent applications faster than spousal applications. That would cause an uproar. Parent / grandparent applications are still going to take years - just not as many years as before.

Is there anyone submitted cover letter with your application? Please feel free to share it without your personal info. Thanks!

Dear Friends... Can anyone advise me if RRSPs are considered as part of your income. I withdrew some RRSPs in 2012 and was taxed by CRA. It shows on my NoA. Would it be considered acceptable as it increases my income to qualify.

Thanks
