Hi All - Does anyone know if we have to keep the application ready before the PGP starts for 2019 ? also it would be helpful if someone can share the check list of all the required documents which are necessary to show the interest.

Summary for those just joining the discussion:
2019 - 20K cap, first come first serve. News release https://canadianimmigrationexperts.ca/parents-sponsorship-canada/ or https://www.cicnews.com/2018/12/can...open-in-late-january-1211694.html#gs.efwZexJj

The IRCC website has not been updated with the link to the form to express interest to sponsor.

Once you express interest, if selected you get invited to submit paper work.

For keeners, who want to prepare before being invited, you can look at the 2018 paperwork here. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...application-sponsor-parents-grandparents.html which officially this is subject to change it gives you a good idea of what is required.

Which tax years are going to be used this time - is it 2015/2016/2017 0r 2016/2017/2018? 2018 taxes will have been filed by the time applications are checked.

We don't know yet.

We are having a problem checking earnings for 2016. Is there a website or helpline for the IRS where you can contact them to check what your gross salary was for a particular year? Thanks to anyone who can help with this.

IRS is for US. Post you message in a US forum.

My husband and I just became PRs last year and this will be our first time doing taxes in Canada. Can we use our previous taxes from the US in the proof of funds (as part of the past 3 years’ taxes) to sponsor his parents to come to Canada? Or does it have to be Canadian Taxes?

Has to be Canadian taxes.

Dang it. Okay, thank you for the response! Good luck everyone. :)

Dont understand this. Where does it say that we need to file 3 yrs taxes to be eligible for sponsoring parents? All it says (in addition with age, PR status and living in canada part) is that you should have a salary to support and satisfy Federal income levels for family size. Are we referring to CRA form which asks for calculation for past 3 yrs or something?

At the beginning, they mention Notice of Assessment for the 3 years preceding application date from CRA.
