Not sure if we discussed about this earlier but I received a newsletter which states :

"Foremost among the forecasts made by CIC is that the total intake of economic immigrants to Canada through Express Entry is set to increase once the backlog of applications from 2014 has been cleared. "

it means that they are aware of the backlog problem.
i think what we did so far including sending letter, email and petition is paying off.

good job everyone !

although it does not mean they will speed up on our file since they mentioned they will increase intake of express entry once backlog is cleared.
we should keep asking for their attention on our files until we get an answer !

whoever have account in facebook, please write post to the Minister John McCallum about the situation. if you check the "Visitor Posts" on his FB, you will see my letter posted to him already already. You can write new posts are like my current post.
I sent email to him already but it may take a month to get reply.
Also, there are FB accounts for Citizenship and immigration canada. Click "Check In" and send the same message to CIC. Thanks

After I read this article, my feel is firstly, our cases should not be defined as "backlog". Backlog refers to uncompleted work that need to be processed, and it implies to issues caused by large workload. However in our case, our applications were sent in sooner than EE but did not receive priority. It is a matter of choice to prioritize and not a matter of workload accumulation.

Besides, although they are aware of this old 2014 CEC (yep, 1 year of out-of-date system is too old), but didn't propose when they are targeting to clear these applications, and didn't talk at all about the strategies of clearing older applications, such as assigning VO or hiring more VO to work on these applications.

I had signed petition earlier but don't think it would have much effect.

I would call them as backlogs. Because if you do not prioritize stuff for a long time, it eventually means that there is very less concern about those files and will only be cleared when there is time unless something crazy happens.

So hopefully, something crazy happens soon and gets our files processed.

The Immigration minister is MP from ThornHill-Unionville. Anyone in GTA would like to meet up and chalk out a strategy to meet him in person. Let me know. I 'm going on vacation and will be back mid Dec. It's a good time to meet him in Jan-2016. For that we got to meet sometime around Christmas and figure out how to approach.

BTW, I don't think "cicnews" web-site has anything to do with official CIC. Looks like it's a lawyers website, but news sounds authentic enough

I live in GTA. I'm available to come and meet him in person.

Are you sure that we can meet him even if we are not from Thornhill-Unionville riding?

I am calling CIC, your waiting time is 17 minutes ,,, I remember in past it is 11 minutes.

I called the CIC, this time she start encourage me to withdraw my CASE .

She asked me again and again, Would you want withdraw your application or not ?

I said no, then she said, you can only waiting.
