Check the link:cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=873&t=6

Click NO for the question "Was this answer useful?" and give your feedback.

"Will let them know our pain in all the possible ways. We are not going to loose anything by protesting in these ways.
Following are the easy ways you can let them know your situation:
1. CIC has an account in Facebook and updating their activities on daily basis. I have seen the Admin has responded to some silly questions in the comments. Post your comments related to Pre Jan 2015 CEC Applications. I have not seen a single post so far in favor of Pre Jan 2015 CEC Applications. I have posted few but no response so far. We need posts from more people.
2. Send Email to Minister John McCallum
3. Send email to your Local MP
4. Send the message in twitter to Minister and Local MP.
5. change.org/p/justin-trudeau-john-mccallum-minister-of-immigration-citizenship-and-refugees-precess-cec-application-submitted-in-2014-deadlines-have-reached-why-there-is-no-action"

I did this all the above and got a reply that 'We are looking into it.We will keep you updated as we get more information from CIC'.

Also, I am seeing another line added on my ECAS! I do not know if that is a reason or not.

I am sure even they cut off all the cases now, protest won't work, just google the history . protest never work for it .
So, after I think about it for a while, and did some google-ing, my 2 cents are I suspect the elimination of old 2014 CEC applications is not impossible, but quite improbable, especially not in the short term.

http://www.global-economics.ca/two_cheers_kenney.htm

From the history, elimination of backlog applications had happened:
1. It was under the FSW category and not the CEC category.
2. It eliminated 284,000 applications, whereas our estimate of unprocessed old 2014 CEC are about 3,000 to 4,000 only. These is a huge difference in the order of 10^3 of the numbers of backlog.
3. Most importantly, Jason Kenney made this happen, and now he is no longer with us.
4. Applicants in 2007 and 2008 got eliminated by 2012, so there is a 4 to 5 years buffer.

One fact that IS similar in those eliminations to our cases, was that old FSW applications got eliminated after the rules change. This is similar to new EE and old CEC cases, and is the very reason that our applications don't get processed on time. IF in the improbable situation that our applications do get eliminated in the end, according to what CIC did earlier, it did take 4 to 5 years anyway. I am not saying that CIC would follow the exact pattern or time line, not any of my points 1-4 above should justify 2014 old CEC will never be eliminated. However if anyone remaining on this forum are still not getting PR in 4 to 5 years with these old 2014 CEC, and would not look for other alternatives, are not smart.

I didn't want to start another thread for this.

they already provided MR and Issued Visa for an French October applicant.

That means they will process all the applications... So don't worry for now, unless until they do so.

This type of information should be left from the forum... it doesn't help anybody, all this does is make people stressed and worried. There is no way they can not process our applications when they have been "locked" into the system. So please lets keep things positive.

Hello Guys,
I have filed my application on Sep 17/2014 in Canada. Its over 14 months now.
I just enquired about my application status calling CIC customer center. He said there was no note on application for being delayed
He has put a note on my application and asked me to wait for 90 days.
Does anyone on this list has already gone through this. Let me know. Thanks

June 2014 applicants got their AOR long before OCT 21 2014 - the cut-off date of CEC cap reached. Their AOR took less than 2 months too, instead of ours of 4.5 months.
Right now I don't think June 2014 applicants' progress imply our application will start to progress. I will have a different thought when applicants with AOR after OCT 21 2014 start to process: early to mid-August applications.

I just got an e-mail back from my immigration lawyer.

Here is part of his reply to my request of updates....

".... You are quite right – PR applications made within the past 18 months have been slowed down to the point that very few of them have been completed or made much progressed over the past 6 months - and we do suspect this is due, in part, to moving resources to Express Entry so as to guarantee a “good start” to that programme.

It appears now that these older CEC files are running at (no less than) 20 months of processing.

We will let you know immediately if we see any movement on your file or if we detect any progress with respect to pre-2015 CEC files in general."

Unfortunately we still need to keep up.
