Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

@ Mellbell- thank u so much for the info, i really appreciate it. I have been waiting way to long. i have a lot of Indian friends who got there husbands here within 5 months, and its so frustrating to hear that the Colombo embassy is issuing the visa after 8 months! I just recently had a baby in November, and my husband is eagerly waiting to see us, its so difficult especially after having children. I tried to get some help from our area MP, and he said it was too early for me to ask since the process takes 16months apparently.

@ watnxt- thanks! I hope we all get the visa soon. i havnt heard anything from Colombo either. trust me ur not the only one who gets into fights lol.. ugh isnt it so annoying

@Shif - Congrats on the baby!!! Don't worry, i'm sure you will hear something soon Yeah India is super fast compared to Sri Lanka. It's just I honestly don't know what goes on in the embassy in Colombo. I mean it's so hard to get in even to just get some info. We were dealing with some other issues initially which gave us cause to think that he may not even be able to come even if he did get his visa.. now everything is sorted out and we are just praying and hoping that the visa comes thru. he's so stressed about finding work here and all.. i'm just stressed about when he will get here!

@watnxt - dude I will totally tell him to check out Hutch.. I had no idea that he could get that many minutes for so little!! And I don't know about the Raza deal but will for sure check it out thank you sooo much! give your wife a break man.. she's a good girl and obviously she's going to be shy hehehe.. plus internet there is sooo slow there so skype can be a lost caust.. hey by the way, is she in colombo now?

Guys I have a suggestion, I dunno about any of you, but I don't know anyone else that's going thru the same process with Colombo as us. Just all of you. I'm based out of ontario and maybe we can all actually get together face to face one of these days.. hehehe... I'm sure Watnxt is not a real name... lol and it will be nice to meet my support system! maybe once we all get our spouses down, we can have a celebratory meal!!

I am from Toronto. Yeah, Hutch is so cheap and so clear. Raza is good deal since no connection fee and u can keep card for ever. My wife calls me now days. So i dont use card much. So I am having this $110 card for over months. I never notices any min lost. You can get or view call history online. It is not physical card. U just top up ur account. I heard that is how mobile in lanka.
Yeah, she is in colombo for last 6 years. She went to university there.
It is greate idea. If we meet in person then it is easy to discuss or even get each other help in this process. Otherwise you dont know who are talking with so you wouldnt feel okay to give personal info.
Offcourse watnxt is not my real name. I an't white dude..lol.

something on my Ecas changed today. All this time my husband couldn't log into Ecas using the file number, but now he can!

also they added on my hubby's address as well

Wow...good news on new year day. Love to hear like this. Hope you will get more good news soon. Do they have different ecas sponsored person? I thought there is one, that we used and we can see both info under that. So in my case I use my family name and my info to log into ecase. Under sponsored person i see my wife name. Under sponsor application status "Decision Made" and under Permanent res "Application Received".

Do you think my wife can log in using different id? What do they need to use?

Immigration File # : Fxxxx (file number that they created for my wife sponsor)
Family name : My name ( her last name is my name)
Her DB
Sri lanka.
It says no record found. I guess they haven't start to work on my app.
Let me know how can i login behalf of her.

No changes. But your file number should start with BXXXXXXXXX.. so check that out...

I think you are just entering the wrong file number watnxt. let me know what happens.

Hellooo watnxt...I don't belong to this thread..but I follow it because I'm a Sri Lankan and I did sponsor my ex some time ago from Colombo..
so..here is what I found out...if you log in with the sponsor's info and if ECAS only says 'application recvd' then you won't be able to log in with the immigration file #('F' #) ...if the sponsor's log in says 'application in process' then you could log in with the applicant's info.

There are file #'s that start with 'F' and some that start with 'B' for family class(spouse)...it's a mystry as to what these letters mean! :S

I guess I have wrong file number. My wife siblings applied for family sponsorship for her family 4 years ago. That time she was under 19 or something and she was part of application. I married her in 2010 and sponsored her. Her parents informed colombo about our marriage and asked them to remove her.
So I guess the file number start with "F" is blongs to her family sponsorship app, not mine.
Since colombo never contact my wife, we didnt get any file number from Colombo.
Not sure if this "name removing" thing causing this delay.
