She will need to come to Mexico city, only needs the photos, UPDATED-NEW birth certificate (she can get it in Mexico city), Curp (takes two days to get it), ID could be passport, the payment and wait 2 weeks to pick it up. So you don´t need 50 days!!

Hope it helps.

Newyorker...you will need a letter for the Consulate ( Mexican Consulate ) to apply for the police record...according to the requirments..this is what you need..

Carta expedida por la Embajada, Consulado o Dependencia de Gobierno, dirigida al Licenciado Mario Alberto Arzave Trujillo, Director General de Control de Procesos Penales Federales, solicitando la expedición de la Constancia de Antecedentes Regístrales

This letter is for Mexicans living aboard...

I have a question for you..Does your spose has a Mexican Voting Card??? (credencial de elector) ...if this is the case you will need to send the original to apply for the police certificate...and remember to send a certified copy of the passport....

Susana
I have a expired credencial de elector this may help? I really don't want to send the passport, but we'll see

AlbertMex,

I am talking about the people who live outside the country not in Mexico. I can't go and neither can she. There must be a procedure for people living outside, what if someone living in Canada, or Europe, they have to fly and spend thousands of dollars to get the PCC from Mexico?

There are two procedures for two different categories, for people who are living inside Mexico have different requirement and the people who are outside have different requirement and it says on the CIC Website. The only thing it doesn't say is what is required to get one.. GO figure...

This is a direct quote from CIC website

"If you live outside of Mexico

* If you are living outside of Mexico, the federal police certificate you will need is called the Informe de datos registrales.
* The Canadian visa processing office in Canada or the Canadian embassy or consulate in the country where your case is being processed will give you instructions for obtaining the Informe de datos registrales."

Yes I am desperately waiting for the instruction, as soon as it is available to me, I will post it over here. I think anyone who is living abroad need the information.

State/Province is very easy and they'll give you same day, actually my wife call them today and they explained everything. The problem is to get a hold of Federales, it is not possible to talk to them as they won't pickup the phone. Waiting for instructions.......

Hi NewYorker
Is your spouse Mexican citizen or she just happened to be live in Mexico for more than 6 months...

I am not Mexican myself but I happened to work in Monterrey for 11 months... I applied to CIC and I am waiting for AOR, Medicals...
I did not provide Mexican PCC because of it is almost impossible to obtain it if you are outside of Mexico... I contacted the Mexican consulate and they had no idea how to request the document.... I also contacted PGR and they told me that this process needs to be done personally or have someone in Mexico to do it for you...
Also I see in previous posting that they require FM3... funny I don't have it anymore because once you get off Mexico for good you have to return it....

currently I am waiting to hear from CIC however I did provide a letter explaining how difficult and costly (hotels/# of days to process, etc...) is to get this document.....
I am also crossing my fingers and I'll be waiting for your post

Thx

I don't know what FM3 is, my wife is from Mexico and Mexican Citizen, we have someone there to do it, however if we know what to do?? Funny anh?

I have no idea how to get this report, there are no clear instruction, therefore I asked folks in Mexico to investigate for us. Also waiting on the CIC instructions ~ In the past few days that's what I found out;

1. Province Police report is very easy and given if someone is there for you to pick-up, they issue it the same day.
2. Federal is issued only from Mexico City and I have no idea what they need, and also someone can do it for you but before starting the process, you need to know what is needed.

Bottom line is if you don't have anyone in Mexico, then there is no chance you can get the federal report unless you travel, even if you have someone there, there are no guarantees that they will give it you and will not throw obstacles because of corruption.

New Yorker did you ask CIC already for the instructions if you don;t live in Mexico? FM3 is the immigration form from Mexico if you are not Mexican

The instructions are in the mail, as soon as I will receive it, I will post. So I don't have to worry about FM3 as I never lived in Mexico as a foreigner and my wife is Citizen so she don't need it either.

Obtaining or not your police certificate from Mexico City does not have anything to do with corruption. It's having her documents or not that's what's going to make a difference.
I already gave you all the information you need to apply for it. I your wife is Mexican, she can contact directly the PGR. I already gave you the web page and their e-mail address and the requirements are crystal clear.

So again...here it is what she needs to apply for the police clearance: (Constancia de Antecedentes Registrales).

You will have to send original and a photocopy of each one.
*
· Official ID...Passport or voters card at least one of them has to be original...certify a copy or her passport. Before you send the documents, ask them if they will take just the certified copy instead of the passport.
· Utility bill with her physical address and her name on it, not older than 2 months... if your entire bills are on your name, you will require to prove that you are living together.
· A letter from the Mexican Consulate (the nearest one to her location) addressed to the Director General de Control de Procesos Penales Federales, requiring La Constancia de Antecedentes Regístrales. THIS IS A MUST !!!!
· 3 sets of fingerprints
CURP
· A current birth certificate (Issued in 2009)
· 2 pictures (one front and one profile)
· Payment. It has to be paid on the bank using a special format named forma fiscal SAT-5.
· If somebody is applying on her name, she will need to write a Power of Attorney (carta poder) signed by her, two witnesses and the person whose going to apply for the certificate. (You will have to photocopy the ID of all the signers).

It is sooooooooooooo frustrating...today I drove 4 hours in a very heavy traffic jam to 2 places to get my CURP...and I couldn´t!!!!............In the first place they told me they work from 9-10 am......he told me to go to another office that opens till 3....I drove...trying to find a parking spot.......dusty, polluted, crowded, garbage on the streets, hot weather...and then they told me they open until 10... F&*# Mexico!!!!! I called before and the machine only says that they open at 9.........but it doesn´t say they close at 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!
