Hi deepdeep,
Thank you for your reply.
Do you mean they will send the application for every or most of the applicants to the visa office for background check then the application will come back to Canada?
I am from Syria but my application has been sent to Romania as it is the office responsible about Syrian applicants.
Could you please let me know what visa office did you mention in the form when you filed your application?
Thanks in advance,

You do not mention the VISA OFFICE in form, its only the country your citizen of. I am from India, so my visa office was New delhi. Processing time for PR for applicant from New delhi office is 18 months but everything happened in 11 months and I got my PR :)

I don't think that's true.. All inland applicants (those residing in Canada during the application process) are processed in Ottawa, and those applicants should check Ottawa as their visa office in the application papers.

Applications sent from outside Canada are processed in the assigned outland visa office (there's a list of which countries fall under which visa offices at the CIC site), and those applicants need to check that office in the application papers.

So an outland applicant from India would check New Delhi as their visa office, but an inland applicant from India would check Ottawa. Obviously Ottawa will contact the visa office of the applicant's home country if they need more information, but the main processing would still happen in Ottawa.

Thank you... That's what I was confused about. In the form imm0008 on the first page, I mentioned the visa office responsible about my country. I though after I was reading the comments on this website that I should have mentioned a name of a visa office inside Canada. This means I did not do a mistake and sending the application to the visa office outside of Canada is a regular procedure (for background check).

Again, I thank you for your kindness and your prompt response.

Thank you for elaborating. It is hard to understand the internal CIC process.

Did you send the PCC on your own or was it requested by CIC?

Have not seen any DM or PPR since last week on this forum ? IDK what's happening at CIC?
I called CIC this morning just to double check if they have received the renewed copy of my PP,(sent via fax on April20 ) bbut agent told me my file doesnot show any notes regarding it however he said that doesn't mean they did not receive it, adviced me to call back in couple days to double check . and myECAS is already IP since April 20.

Hello everyone I received RPRF request today.
Note that I have not received MR yet.

1.) Is this the first step of processing (as some people call it initial process?).
2.) How many more steps to complete?
3.) How long does it usually take?
