Since Sep 2014 in the AINP certificate there is no information for CIC about employer's job offer so in Alberta you should apply for BOWP(not closed) but not every officer know about that.
This is what AINP agent told me, other provinces are different

Hey Guys,

I think we need to get together and talk to a MP(maybe immigration minister) about our situation and give them a letter of investigation. Most of us have been suffering due to wait and limited time at our hands. Once we bring it to somebody`s notice, I am pretty sure they will take some action. Something has to be done as we are limited on time. If somebody knows the process on how to get to a MP or has any type of connection that can help, I think we should use. Who is in?

I am in. However I have no hopes. We are no one for them.

Any OPNP nominees out there who applied for work permit last year received it this year?? I am on nearly 5 months of waiting now because of the OPNP audit/QA debacle.

Hi everybody!
My Work Permit will Expire on Feb 27, 2015.
I am an AINP nominated in EMPLOYER DRIVEN CATEGORY and my Application is in CIC office in Sydney, NS. I have got AOR in Nov 2014.I need to apply for my Work Permit Extension. Applied for BOWP on Dec 1st and today received a refusal with the explanation:

"You must submit a letter from the province that nominated you under the Provincial
Nominee Program that DOES NOT stipulate conditions or restrictions indicating you
must work for a Specific Employer, or work Under a Specific National Occupational
Classification Code. (If these stipulations exist on your Nomination, you are NOT eligible
for a bridging open work permit)"

Anybody know if I can apply for a closed WP without LMIA just with nomination certificate and AOR?

now this is so confusing?well i applied for bowp on 21st dec 2014 with pnp certificate which is obviously expired.but i already have recieved my AOR and medical done on july now does anyone knows m i eligible to get open workpermit or not?

Does PNP nominee required to include IELTS with application package to CIO?

My IELTS meanwhile expired. However, as documents check list for PNP nominee, IELTS required for NOC C& D, mine is NOC B. Someone tell that valid IELTS should be attached with application package to CIO otherwise they may return back the application as incomplete.

Really confused what to do. Taking further IELTS will takes more time.

What is your suggestion? What is the experiences who already send application to CIO? Please help.

Here's a quote from PNP class check list: "You must include a copy of your language test results with your application to CIC." So looks like you do need to enclose proof of your English command.

I was nominated under OPNP. I just went to the Rainbow Bridge border to get the BOWP and I got it on the spot! I got it with an expired PNP certificate and without an AoR for PR application.

As you correctly mentioned IELTS is only required for applicants with jobs falling in NOC C & D. I applied without my CELPIP results and my job is NOC B as well and as you can see from my timeline my application was accepted.

Starting July 1, 2012, most Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants for semi- and low-skilled occupations that fall under National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Levels C and D will have to undergo mandatory language testing and achieve a minimum standard of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 in English or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) level 4 in French across all four categories: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Glad to share my timeline with all the members:

Ontario PNP Nomination: 25-Sep-2014
PR Application Sent to Sydney NS: 01-Nov-2014
PR Application Received By Sydney NS: 06-Nov-2014

Haven't heard from CIC since then - no AOR so far. I know there are a lot of people who applied before me are still waiting for their AORs and File Nos.

What is the average time to get AOR?

I wish cic were more precise in their wording. Both quotes are by cic, which creates all sorts of wanderings.
