It doesn't make sense if your business pay so much to the owner/solo employee and then suddenly dropped the income. So once the salary has been set, it's not normal to NOT continue to pay themselves a similar amount. It's ok to pay tax.
Different people have different situations.

Someone might have more than enough personal savings to last years. And thus have no need to pay themselves any personal income. But in order to qualify for PGP they need the income to show.

After PGP is done and parents are here they can go back to no personal income or very minimal.

If they do, they may get some speical attention from CRA. That's what I mean.
