Hi everyone, I am new to this thread.
I have a question about my parent's application.
I first applied on July 2011 and resubmitted documents around 2015.
Now the status shows as
"We started processing your application on March 16, 2016."

Just wondering what be the next step and how long it may take.

Thanks

P.S The visa office is Singapore.

as you have indicated that you have resubmitted documents around 2015, after that around 10 to 12 weeks you might have received you application is complete and its placed in processing Queue and it will be processed on first come first basis

once they get your file and start processing your application I think at that time your status will be updated

I am waiting for similar kind of information, but you are ahead of some of the folks here

after landing and getting PR in Canada, when are you allowed to travel back to your home country?

Hello,

I would like to sponsor both my parents. I would like to know if I need to fill out one application for both or one for each parent.

Thanks in advance.

Only one application. You will make one parent the principal applicant and the other parent will be the dependent.

You can travel immediately but if you do not have a PR card then you need to apply for a travel document from the country you are in so that you can return back to Canada.

The fee for a travel document is $50 and it is valid for only one entry.

Once you get your PR card (Usually two months) or if you have US visa, you can exit and enter through US.

Thanks xaideez. I sponsored my parents from india. they got passport request already and hoping to get visa soon, but they may need to return back to india to complete unfinished business. so for them, can they return back with PR card only?

Thanks soonihope. my parents will wait to get the PR card before travelling back home, but don't they need both travel document and pr card to travel back? they are coming from india and they will have travel document from india. they don't have indian passport though.

The travel document is not the COPR. it is like a one time visa and only a person who is already a landed PR can apply. Normally a landed PR would need to produce a PR card when they return back into Canada.

But for anyone who is already a PR but for some reason cannot produce a PR card then they can apply for travel document like a visa application so that they can return to Canada.

Hello All,

I will be landing in Canada in June. Now that I have got my PR I'm looking at parent sponsorship.

I'm trying to look for prerequisites to sponsor them.
Could someone please guide me as to where i can find them.??

My questions are like:
1) Can I sponsor them immediately?
2) How much funds I should show (both parents)?
3) Can I bring them on supervisa first then sponsor them for PR.?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Regards
Ajith
