Hi Guys,

I am totally new to this forum, never posted anything before this. Always read others post used them to know details about the situation, but now want to post and need to some details.

I have sponsored parents in 2009, I guess initially file was moving very slow but lately (in last 3months or so) received email that they asked my parents to go for medical test that was in Sept and only gave 30 days to do that. My parents have gone thru the medical exam and Doctors have submitted the medical report.

Fews days back received another email from "Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa" stating that "Your medicals have been received."

Now want to know how long it takes after this to receive any further decision/communication from CIC. Anybody else in same situation.

Please let me know, its been long wait to get to this stage, so want to know what to expect.

Thanks for your responses in advance.

Prady

As has already been said you are indeed lucky to have progressed so far because your case is in Ottowa. Many others who filed in 2007 and 2008 are still waiting to reach the point you are at. Nevertheless they have been very patient and very supportive even when later applicants are further on in the process. Many are unfailingly helpful in giving good advice too and I am sure you will find the same.

I don,t remember the name of members but I think there are few members like your situation.do you see medical receieved when you click on application received.
Ask tomorrow when our forum will be active.

Actually its very confusing, When I go to CIC website to check status of the application its still showing me "Application Received". It is not changed since I applied. As of now also its keep showing "Application Received", Since 2009 its showing same status. So I sought to this forum to find out. Has anybody else also experienced same issues with STATUS on CIC website?
do you see Medicals received when you click on Application received?

it is normal to see Application received... there are several people from Ottawa office who already got passport request with Application received status... and some people with Decision Made status and No passport request...

it's very hard to predict how long it might take after medicals to get visa...I already read on another forum about a person from Ottawa office who was asked to submit additional documents in March, passed medicals in September and received passport request in October... however there are still people from the first batch (November additional documents request) and medicals before September that haven't receive passport request yet...

did not see that note... i ordered GCMS notes several times... i think that ordering electronic notes does not delay the process...

I agree with Shuga: ordering GCMS notes does not delay the process. However, order only if absolutely neccessary.

Please note that Request through MP office does impact the processing as the file will be reviewed by an officer to provide an answer to MP office...

Hello Shuga:

Your parents application should have been finalized by now. In GCMS notes under History and sub section Application and Activity, it will show progress or actions taken...which will give an idea where the file is stuck.

My observation is that files for applications being processed at CPP-Ottawa are looked up by different immigration officers as compared to same immigration officer, most of the time, at LVO's.

At CPP-Ottawa, one immigration officer can clear the application for further processing but another immigration officer on next review can decide otherwise. (it is vice versa). In either case, it just delays the processing...There is least chance of happening the same at LVO's because in LVO's it is the same officer most of the time.

There is definately a general Bias that parents and grandparents are just some retired bums...which is wrong

How about Paper File History...is it in Ottawa

FC4 - FC is family class and 4 is the code for parents and grand parents.

FC1 is for spouse, FC2 is for fiance(e), and FC3 for sons and daughters.

FC4: I think it means that Immigration officer is satisfied and criteria for PR under Family Class parents and grandparents is met

I believe your file is at final processing level. Immigration officers, most of the time, review the files at 60 day intervals (when there is a request for additional documents) and if on next due date for review all documents pass the criteria file is moved to next level.

In your case I think it will be PPT request...It most likely will be issued by CPP-O but will be processed (stamping etc) by LVO. Good luck

Look at the date of request and due date for 2nd medical request then compare it with the date medical status was changed to Passed. That will give you a fair idea...
