Hi Shuga,

Perhaps it will be good for me to take another look at that letter. I don't recall what it stated (Ottawa or overseas office).

What are my options to check the status:
- If the file's been forwarded to Ottawa
- Or else, if it's been forwarded to overseas visa office

Thanks!

Congratulations Parkbr

@shuga
Your parent's file is already in Ottawa which means they don't need much information from them.Security, criminality will be passed in couple of minutes.I read in some cases they pass it in one day.Only problem is you are not getting PPR which you should have by now.I hope on next review they send you Passport request.

if the case is in Ottawa - then it's a little strange that you haven't received anything from them since April... CPP-O usually sends medical requests (by e-mail) reasonalby soon after the file transfer...

if the case is in LVO - it might take longet to receive any correspondence from them... depending on LVO...

you can check on-line status (e case https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?app=ecas)
you can order GCMS notes (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp)
you can just wait...

Congrats... That was fast. Do you know when your medicals were passed.

Thanks, rajmalhotra7.
My parents did their medical on Aug 13 2012 and the doctors sent it on Aug 16 2012.
When I checked my eCAS a week later (on Aug 24th or 23rd?), it says Medical Received.

Thank you, Luck786, nanapush.

It is good that CPP-O is sending PPR to folks who have passed medicals in August.. I am not far away... my parents medicals were passed on August 20. May be in couple of months (worst case scenario) I'd be receiving PPR. Worst case is estimated because some applications may require lengthy background checks. My father was not in military/police but was in a government job and have extensive travel history to USA and Canada.

Hi Shuga,

I somehow thought that since later months of 2011 all the Visa processing was done in Ottawa. As per the pilot program?

If the file did got to Ottawa then any thoughts on how to investigate why we haven't received the Medical Request. I have a feeling that I didn't supply my email to them. I just sent the updated IMM-5476 (Use of Rep); with email address about a month ago.

The 2 links you sent:
- After I put in my Client Id on the first link, all I get is "Decision Made. ..Sent you a letter on April 2 2012"
- What is the second link for??? Please advise: What's a GCMS note?

Thanks again! Sumeet

some cases - where local knowledge is not required - are processed in Ottawa... some cases (all cases with dependents and some withouth dependents) are processed in LVOs...

Congrats parkbr,

What's your ecas status?

if you did not provide an e-mail address in IMM 0008 then all the correspondence were done via mailing adddress from IMM 0008...
if you order GCMS notes (electronic notes of your file) you will see where is the file and if medicals has been send or not...

Application Assignment Due Date is at the beginning, on the 2nd page:

Assessments:
Eligibility: Not Started
Security: Not Started
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Passed

Paper file
Office: CPP Ottawa

Application Assignment
Due Date: 2012/09/13

there is nothing about criminality sub activities...
In my case due date is 2012/07/14 when I received GCMS notes on 2012/10/01. So I don't really worry about due date.

Assessments:
Eligibility: Not Started
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In Progress
Medical: Passed

Paper file
Office: CPP Ottawa

Application Assignment
Due Date: 2012/07/14
