Little more progress in my parent'scase. ECAS under parent's UCI shows "In Process" under Permanent Residence Application Status. When I click the "In Process", it shows two lines. First is "We received your application for permanent residence on April 15, 2008" and second line is "We started processing your application on June 22, 2012".
Congratulations!! that's a good news for ND visa office

Hello ALL,

I have recieved a Medical Request for my parents via email. In the email it says "PLEASE NOTE: If your medical results are sent to Ottawa instead of the responsible medical office, the file will be forwarded to the responsible medical office, causing further delays. "

My parents are in India and will get their medical done, but I am confused if the doctor have to send the medicals to responsible medical office or he has to mail if to Ottawa?

Also responsible medical office is same as Local VISA office... Please advise . Appreciate!!!

Thanks

Just want to ask when is your filed transfer? Where was it transferred and when did you get the approval letter saying your eligible to sponsor?? Im really hoping for your response as i was approve april 25 but still havent got my mom's medical request.

Thank you very much!

I sent additioanl documentation for two separate applications in May 2012 (same day, same package), however I have received an approval for one and nothing for the second. I called CIC this morning, and the representative gave me weired answer.

[Delhi_im_enquiry @ international.gc.ca] and
[https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=new delhi]

These aren't the same. The first one is a general inquiry email contact and the other is a 'case-specific' inquiry contact. If you have a file number and or your parent's UCI, it is best to use the second one. If the file is not opened in LVO, then you should use the first one.

On other note, I've been doing some research on the data provided by members of other forums and have noticed the following trends (wrt New Delhi):
- People who got their sponsorship approved before Nov'11 (originally applied in May 2007), are still awaiting their visas.
- Once file is transferred, it takes about 18 months for the visa
- After medicals it takes about 9 months for the visa

My GUESSTIMATE ;) is:
- LVO applicants would still get visa about 9 months after medicals, but they would get medical requests within 6 months of AOR
- CPP-O applicants may have to wait longer after medicals (but their medicals expiry would be extended)

**mood spoiler alert**
A lot depends on 168K backlog with only 21k to 25k applications being allotted for 2012. How much of this 21K (in terms of 'date originally applied') cover the backlog? Does it cover everyone who applied before Jan2010? Jan2009? On certain CIC stats (like Projected Inventory for 2012), what does 'In process 2011' mean? does it mean people who have received AOR in 2011? If that is the case, then the bulk of 6000 visas (NDL) would go to people who got approved before the Nov 2011 letters were issued? (very few have received AORs since Nov2011 process change) Am I missing something? (I hope, I am).

Guys, time to correct me with your views!

It is possible that two separate applications are reviewed by different officers. CIC supervisors assign files to officers in the group. CIC officers do not have authority to pick certain files they like. The processing time can be slightly different in that way. I think sometime it is wasting time to phone CIC call centre agent.

why do you think so?
not that i argue with you... i havent' read about any visa from CPP-O yet... but it's been only about 4 months since CPP-O people started get medicals done... why do you think they have to wait 12 months or even more?

My guess is based on NDL issuing visas after a final decision is made by CPP-O. If that's the case, the files would be queued in NDL based on AORs (CPP-O and NDL applicants). Since CPP-O applicants have already done the medicals long before NDL applicants have, CPP-O applicants would appear to have waited longer (after medicals) for the visas. If the visas are issued by CPP-O, then it would be a lot faster process.
