When we expect the PPR letter its almost 3 months after medical and pre-arrival letter received.

Impossible to say could be weeks but also could be years. They still have to do background checks and then final review. Pre-arrival letter is not tied to processing time. Posted processing time outside Quebec is still 36 months so those who are receiving PPRs are the rare cases being processed extremely quickly.

My parents provide biometrics at VFS location a week ago. But in CIC account, still says "we need biometrics to process your application". Is it normal? when this will update to "completed"?

Yes this is normal. ircc sometimes takes time to link the biometrics to the application.

I am sponsering my mother and applied last year in 2024 in the draw..
So far completed are biometric, medical , submitted police cert, received sponser eligibility letter.

However the issue is that when I try to track the application at
https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do

it seems system cant find application.

Then I tried to login to the portal and linking the application . There also the system cant find application. I verified UCI number and application number is also correct.

Updated my timeline in my signature below... I have had a stroke of bad luck with Canada Post. But now my application seems to be on track.

To people who haven't heard back from a long time and feel something is fishy, trust your gut and call IRCC. I called them late March and realized that a letter got lost in the mail. They were able to re-issue the letter and extend by deadline to provide extra docs.

Also, question:
My parents have a visit visa for Canada, and are considering to visit in June for 1.5 months. Do I need to inform IRCC?
Also, given my timelines - Should I just wait for PPR (who knows when that will happen) or call them over for a short trip? They haven't visited for a while and I was hoping they can come for a short visit. Looking for advice.

Hi everyone, I spoke to IRCC and wanted to share an update in case it helps anyone. It was confirmed that on April 22nd an ADR request was issued for the following documents:

1 - Birth Certificate

2 -IMM008

3 -IMM5406

Unfortunately, they sent the email to the wrong address. I asked them to update it, which they’ve done, but they said it could take up to 5 more days to resend the ADR to the correct email which is quite frustrating. The advisor couldn’t go into detail and wasn’t able to confirm where the documents need to be submitted or provide any further instructions. They did mention something might also arrive by mail, so I’m keeping an eye out.

Apologies if someone else has already asked this — but for those who’ve dealt with a similar situation: should I re-upload the same documents I submitted with the original application, or wait for the official letter in case it includes specific instructions or updates to the forms?

Also I am not sure what information is missing as from speaking with other applicants it seems they send standard ADR letters to everyone.

Thanks in advance!

Best thing to do is link your application to the ircc (cic) account. All communication are visible even if there is wrong address. After linking check the uploaded document and if some are required upload them.

Hopefully you’re able to sort the ADR for wrong email.

Thank you for the response. Apologies if this question has been asked before but how do I link the application? At the moment I only have a temporary application # starting with the letter "X".

Hi everyone,

Just found this forum. I got the invitation to sponsor my parents last year (2024). My dad sadly passed away last year so I informed IRCC of the change in application and sent them all the documents they required. Fast forward a few months, everything seemed to be moving fairly quickly until Dec 20, 2024 when my mom got her fingerprints and we sent them in.

I got a letter from CIC on Dec 30, 2024 to say that I have met the eligibility requirements for sponsorship. That was the last thing I heard from them. I have tried completing the "Contact us" form several times and checking the status of my mom's application online but I have had no luck or have not received any response.

At the biometrics office (in Toronto), we were told that we would hear back in a month but it's been over 5 months now so I am getting very concerned.

Can someone please advise or share their experience if they are in a similar situation?

I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks!

I am also unable to link the application to cic account. Not sure how to proceed.
