I sponsored my parents back in 2022 and received PR for them(Process is finished), now I received invitation - 2025 for my in-laws . So do I Still have to count my parents in family member?
Also for Year 2024 I have worked and lived in usa and filed tax in usa. Do I have to file a tax in Canada also for year 2024?
This is NOT an invitation for YOU to sponsor. It's for your spouse to sponsor her parents.
Does your spouse work? Did she co-sign to sponsor your parents? Are you going to co-sign for your spouse' sponsorship application?
For family size, if she co-sign and/or if you plan to co-sign the family size will include your parents. You have undertaking for them for 20 years.

Were you a non-tax resident in 2024 tax year? If so, why are you filing tax for that year?
Were your spouse a tax resident in 2024? Does her income (in her NOA) meet LICO?
Are you living in Canada now? Is your spouse living in Canada now?

is there any thread which explains how to fill forms, I mean what we must take care. my parents will be filling form so I want to send list or detailed process more explanatory.
Bro it is a lengthy process and I would recommend you fill for your parents. You can also submit Use of Representative Forms IMM 5476. I just submitted parents application today. I have two friends whose application had been aprroved in 2023 and 2021. They also filled IMM 5476 form.

Hi Experts, looking for advise , my mom is PGP applicant, is it mandatory to upload education certificates into pgp-pr application. I am not seeing the education certificates in document checklist. My mom lost her original education certificates 10 years back, didn't try to get those certificates again as she is retired. Can she submit her application without education certificates? Without education cert will the application be rejected ?
I did not upload any educational documents for my parents neither the IRCC ask for it. My father is a retired graduate but my mother was only a secondary school student.

I have few questions regarding the PGP application.

  1. Is its one account i.e of principal applicant's where all the application forms and documents are submitted correct ?
  2. We dont have mother's (principal applicant's ) birth certificate ? What should we write in the letter of explanation ?
  3. The form ask the Identity card expiry date , where mother's identify card expiry says life time .

Any insight on these would be appreciated.
    Thanks
I had the same issue, and I wrote 9999-12-31 and explained it in the letter of explanation.

If their spouse was living in Canada in 2024 they would have been a tax resident so would have already filed. Assume they were both non-residents so wouldn’t qualify for PGP for the in-laws. Hope the parents weren’t living in Canada while child worked, lived and paid taxes in the US. They may have even been in the US while the PGP was being processed. If so assume IRCC was unaware of that.

Parents are in canada(vistors)
ITA - 30 july
Applied- 25 aug
Waiting for AOR

How do I download the form that I filled? is it after submitting?

My parent has a new passport so there are a lot of blank pages. Do we need to submit every page in the passport regardless?

No, only the pages with particulars, Visa stamping and any other pages with entry/exit stamps

Hello all,

I received an invitation few days back and in the process of helping my parents fill their forms.

I'm looking for some help related to their birth certificates as both my parents do not have their birth certificate. My dad completed his bachelors degree, so there are some records that can be used for proof of DOB and his passport, but my mom hasn't attended school and does not have anything except passport and Aadhar card showing her DOB. They've tried to get/apply their birth certificates after receiving this invite but it seems like a really long and time taking process, and they cannot go around these government offices given their age.

Kindly advise me what can be done in this case. I appreciate any help and leads.

Thanks

Are you sponsoring your grandparents too? You only need your parent's birth certificates if you are. If not then you just need your (sponsor's) birth certificate.
