I got the P2 email today. P1 email was on 18th June.2025

Hello everyone…My parents got biometric request and they got it done on Aug 12,2025 and when i open their account it says received on Aug 12 under latest update but when i go to view or upload documents its asking for replacement required for fingerprints and their is an option to upload the file
In my understanding biometric report goes straight to immigration office we don’t get any copy of it…So how am i going to upload their biometric file?

P2 is basically when your account gets created on the permanent residence portal. You will see a new row with category as "Confirmation of permanent residence" once you get the P2 email. You will then be asked to confirm the presence in Canada, share the address and Photograph for PR card.

I replied to P1 email, after how long we get P2 email ? any ideas/approx time frame ?

It could easily take 4 to 6 weeks.
My P1 was - May 16th
P2 - June 24th
eCOPR - July 9th
PR card delivered - July 18th

I am not entirely sure what you mean by "replacement required for fingerprints", but if in their account, the name of the required file to upload is "Fingerprints (required)", then all you need to do is to upload the confirmation document that your parents received from the place where the biometric information was collected (this doc proves that the location collected the information from your parents).

I brought my parents to one of the listed locations in Toronto and after that, I uploaded the confirmation document through their account even though the account at the time was already showing that the biometric collection was completed. The application has progressed since, so I assume that's the right thing to do.

I received a Pre-Arrivals Email under my father’s name but my mom was the main applicant!!

However the attachment letter doesn’t have any name but only the UCI number.

Does that letter count for both of them or should I expect another letter for my mother separately.

I uploaded the same letter for both. The passports were submitted in person and VFS had no issues with a single letter. Make sure to print the complete letter twice (including the photo instructions) as they make a fuss if you leave out the photo part.

What IRCC asked me was to resubmit the forms IMM 1344 and IMM 0008 with my mother now as the primary applicant and her marital status changed
Also they cancelled my original Application where my father was mentioned as the primary applicant and opened a new application with my mother then. The submission date was still the same. They did not ask for PCC or medical again since those were already submitted and approved as part of the original application. The processing then moved smoothly with the new application and my mother already got the PR and the card as well.

Thank you, Kunal. It is encouraging to see process went smoothly for you. I have received a new application number. I presume I should also not need to resubmit PCC and Medical. I am just wondering if they will ask for resubmission of Passport for new Visa stamp and COPR. I will let the group know as I get more clarity.
