Hi Guys, We got passport request for my parents on May 22nd. My parents are in Canada so we filled out address change form and got confirmation from IRCC on June 13th. After that, no communication from them over email or no information change on portal also. No P1 or P2 email as well. My parents are in USA for 4 months and coming back in October. How should I follow up with IRCC on status of their application? Is anyone in same boat with this timeline?

If they receive P1 before they visit Canada again they need to reply with their travel plans and when they will be back visiting Canada and remain in Canada until they get PR at that point.

hi Everyone, In July got the biometrics request for parents and deadline was to complete by Aug03 which my parents did within 2 days. So wondering what's the next step after this as still nothing. They will ask for medical next right? What is the timeline they give for landing in this case like within 6months or 1 year you need to land in Canada or that varies?

Could be less than a year but also could be 3 years. There is huge variability in processing times.

Hey guys, I just received my parents passport submission letter. My mom is the principal applicant, so the letter is in her name. my dad is dependent. i am trying for passport submission by two way courier. the VFS page asks for number of applicants and wants the first page of each invitation letter (with name most likely). what would you suggest to do? If I write 2 applicants, I dont have a letter with my dads name.

Hi, Did you ever resolve this with VFS? I also got a single letter with only the primary applicant's name and need to submit the passports for both parents.

Hi guys, I am in same boat, letter has only principal applicants name on it (my mom). My dad was dependent, VFS is asking how many applicants for passport submission and first pages of passport submission letter. dads name is not there, so not sure what to do.

Sorry to hear about your dad. May God give you and your family the strength to bear this loss.
I was the authorised representative on the file. but in my case the PR processing was in progress but it had not reached to the stage where Visa was issued. I informed IRCC and then they asked me to resubmit a couple of forms to make my mother as the primary applicant. Also submit the death certificate as the proof.
Now if you are not the authorized representative, then i think your mother should submit those through the webform.
Better call IRCC immediately and ask them to talk to you by taking your mom's consent verbally on the phone itself if possible.

They responded to my email even though I was not authorised rep. I guess being a sponsor is a good enough relation for them to respond. I have submitted the documents they requested and am awaiting their response now. I will share my experience for the benefit of the applicants as things unfold.

What IRCC asked me was to resubmit the forms IMM 1344 and IMM 0008 with my mother now as the primary applicant and her marital status changed
Also they cancelled my original Application where my father was mentioned as the primary applicant and opened a new application with my mother then. The submission date was still the same. They did not ask for PCC or medical again since those were already submitted and approved as part of the original application. The processing then moved smoothly with the new application and my mother already got the PR and the card as well.

Hello everyone…My parents got biometric request and they got it done on Aug 12,2025 and when i open their account it says received on Aug 12 under latest update but when i go to view or upload documents its asking for replacement required for fingerprints and their is an option to upload the file
In my understanding biometric report goes straight to immigration office we don’t get any copy of it…So how am i going to upload their biometric file?

Another question the letter that IRCC sent they are asking for medical but it says instructions for medical will be sent separately…So should we wait for those instructions or just get the medical done?…The letter was sent on Aug 13
Also asking for PCC but the last one we sent was in April…i thought its valid for 6 months but i guess we have to send it again as they asked for it?

Hello, I got a letter from IRCC(on 19 Aug) mentioning that I have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor to sponsor my parents (submitted application in June 2024), and as I live in Quebec, I have to submit an undertaking application to the Provincial Government. and Obtain a CSQ, and the IRCC mentions that I need to obtain and submit the CSQ to IRCC within 30 days. and provide the URL links to the Quebec govt immigration website, but at the Quebec govt website, it is mentioned that the Quebec govt is not accepting the undertaking application for parents sponsor till June 25, 2026.


If the Quebec government is not accepting the undertaking application at the moment, then how can I get the CSQ within 30 days? Can someone please help? And what should I do in this situation?

Dear friends, I could really use your help! I'm sponsoring my mom, and she’s already completed her medical exams. Could you guide me on how to check the status of her application online? Should I look on the IRCC website, or is there another place? Also, do I need to create an account as the sponsor, or should it be in my mom’s name? Within the 30 day deadline send them a letter of explanation stating that the Québec Governement is not accepting applications for PGP CSQ's till June 25, 2026. Include the link to Québec MIFI link in the Letter of Explanation and attach a PDF version of the MIFI page (optional). This should get you an extension to submit a CSQ until after June 25, 2026.
