I am not sure if needs police clearance from that country or not. But if need i can think of the followingHi Seniors,
I have a difficult situation and if someone can answer or give a solution to me. My father used to live in UAE in 1999. After that he left UAE and never went back there. I applied for PCC from UAE from Dubai police website. Now they are telling me that my father had some pending telephone bill when he left. I did talk to telephone company but they couldn’t find anything. My father doesn’t remember the phone number he had at that time. So telephone company can’t help. I didn’t have his ID number either. Now we are stuck. Last date for sending the PCC is May 25. I don’t think that we will be able to resolve the issue by then. I am ready to pay any pending amount but telephone company can’t take money without any account information. So my question is do I need the police clearance from UAE since It is more than 19 years he left the country.
Any thoughts on how to pay the bill. I don’t have any account information.
1. If telephone company could not find anything pending then ask the telephone company for "No due certificate/letter" .Means letter from company mentioning that Such and such person does not have any pending to pay . If company does not agree with that, I am sure the country has consumer department to force such thing. Get that No due certificate and give it to police department. The you should get PCC.
2. If there is something to pay. Find a person or relative of a person from your locality (from your dad's country) that lives in UAE . Ask that person to pay in UAE and you can pay them in their original home country. I hope you understand what I mean. It sounds funny but don't difficult.
I would also prefer to reach consumer affairs department in UAE for guidance. They should be able to tell you what mode of payment is possible. May be Westren Union?
3. If nothing works. Send a letter/email to higher authorities in Police department telling the complete stories. Hopefully would be able to help
4. Send a letter to IRCC for delay in submitting
5. Confirm that even you need PCC from there or not.
Hope this helps
