I am the sponsored person, my husband is a Canadian and I am currently with him in Quebec.

We applied last Dec. Manila VO recently requested for additional documents and we are hoping to receive DM and PPR soon.

I am a Canadian citizen living in Calgary married to a Japanese women.
She is currently living in Japan and me in Canada.
We are about to send all the documents for the CIC. We apply outland.

I have a question for you.
While we are waiting the PR card, is it ok for her to visit me in Canada ?
In 4 months, she would like to come here and stay with me for a while ( as much as we can haha ).
Will she be allowed to come here on a visitor visa ? Or she cannot come to Canada until she gets the PR card ... which is in more than a year !

I am sorry if my question is stupid. I just started to read about all that, and I am confused.
I just hope I can be with her while waiting for the PR to come.

Yes, she can come to Canada as a visitor while the PR application is being processed. As she is a Japanese citizen, she does not need a visa to enter. She should have a return ticket, proof of the PR application, and proof of ties to Japan. The border agent will probably not ask to see all of this, but it is best to be prepared.

Hello,
I'm in the same situation. I'm French citizen and I usually go through immigration without problem. I always have my return ticket to France, and my application.
They usually never ask anything, specially when I say I come to visit my lover, who is Canadian citizen.
Don't worry, should be fine.

Hi guys, first I want to thank op for starting this thread, I always wanted one and ;D so we can share our experience.

My time line: Mississauga received my application on February 3rd, they start processing on March 31st.
Then I received Ar2 letter from hong kong April 6th. Now cic website shows my status as in process, also my medical results has been received as well.

Now my question is the letter I got is basically about requesting documents, I have submitted everything in my application package, and on the letter it says" if you have not yet ......" Is that means I don't have to give them those documents again?

Also have you guys received a letter like that? Or it is just something only from the hong kong office?

please see below link and choose the address that suits you best. I used a courier to send my application so I used the address for courier Courier address (no public drop-offs)
