Hi Guys
I have a question , I think I have made a mistake with my PR , I sent copies instead of certified copies of both the marriage contract and the family book , do you know if I can resend the right documents again to CIO ,or should I wait till they ask me to send them ??

Hi Hadeel

I'm not quite sure but I read in some forums that someone forgot to send all required documents to CIO and after he knew about it , he did. but his documents were returned to with a note saying we don't know about your application!
I think your situation is the same, try emailing them , maybe you receive an advice

Good luck

I have one concern. Suppose we apply for open Work permit and are successful in getting it. Then we decide not to go and wait for PR. At the time of PR interview, officer will ask you why you did not go to canada when you had open Work permit. Better to be sure if you want to go and then only apply for open Work permit.

Hey :-\

I also got my support letter yesterday. and I'm confused!!!! Whether to go ahead or to wait. Because I'll have to leave my job and go to Canada for job search.
Is anybody aware of job portals where we can search jobs before we actually go there? Like Naukri/Mosnter in India?
As per the earlier discussions, it is clear to me that OWP may spped up migration. But apart from time what other factors are invloved?
I would suggest to start a discussion around pros and cons of going by OWP route. Lets compile a list so that we can analyse and decide based on the reasoning instead of hurry and intution. What say ?

Hi Everyone,
I'm new in this forum and have couple of q regarding nominated candidates with support letter:

1) does the spouse get WP automatically? are there any limitations ?
2) 2 years time boundary since what date? WP issue by cic, entry to canada, support letter issue?
3) sin number with WP: does SIN starting with 9 and 2 years expiry has any impact on job search?

Thanks

Hi Ignat!
Ans.1 Your spouse can get the open work permit, you have to submit his/her application alongwith your work permit application.

Ans 2. 2 years will be from the date when visa is stamped by Consulate office.

Ans 3. I m sorry dont know much about your third question.

Regards

Hi Hadeel,

May I know the source where it mentions that these documents have to be notarised? I seem to have overlooked this.

Thank u!!

Hi Malisa,
Thanks for your reply. Any idea how much time it takes since applying with support letter to Consulate office?

Right. OWP has increased the complexity in our PR application. Infact, if we do not apply also then VO can ask us: why did you not apply when you had an opportunity of faster migration?
But I'm still confused. A friend of mine who is the visa consulation business is strongly suggesting me not to go for it. He is saying it is better to go as a migrant. This is not wise to leave my job and go do job hunting there on work visa. Migrating on PR is a different ball game according to him.
I respect his experience in the field. So, I'm utterly confused.

Hi canimmigrate,
The differences (minor in opinion) are:
- different SIN number, meaning can't work for government+2 years expiration
- health insurance only after 6 months of working there instead of 3 months after landing

That's it. Anyway you have to do job hunting.

HI malisa

As you already sent your application I have one question, Did you fill all forms again for you spouse too, because for one person WP we should fill family information and Temporary Visa form for both(main applicant and spouse) , do we need to do the same for the spouse or it is enough just to fill the WP form for spouse and attach it to our application( and some educational and work certificates).

Thanks
