Hey there October family,
So, after waiting two months with no updates I received an email requesting a completed Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union form (IMM 5409).

I have a question. I sent this form in for my recent visitor extension, but it's dated Dec 26, would it be okay to send or do I need one with a current date?

YAY for sure!!
LOL!! Thanks Anxiouswifey!! I was somewhat excited too even though I now have to send them the form. It is a relief to know that someone is working on it after waiting and not knowing. I am happy that I had this form done in December, so I just need to send it off. I am hoping that if they had needed anything else they would have requested it in the same email. Crossing fingers that it's getting closer to being finished.

Smiles!!

Fingers crossed indeed.... a lot of the people going through the Ottawa VO seem to get through in like 5 or 6 months... so you must be getting very close indeed!! It's good news all the same....

Is he in the USA? Weare hoping to se3 something soon too! Just wondering if they send it just in The mail as everything so far has been emails and we have had a very similar timeline to yours

Yes, he is in the USA. We applied outland and I guess got very very lucky.

I got caught up on reading the posts on this thread and I just wanted to share a bit of my experience for anyone who's been having concerns:

- we sent in our FBI forms with the application. I don't know why they'd say to wait until they are requested from the VO... weird.

- for those of you waiting for AOR1...we received it at about 60-62 days and then got SA about a week later.

- we NEVER received AOR2, so I wouldn't be too concerned if you don't receive it. It might go straight to DM.

- my sponsor application still says In Process whereas the applicant is Decision Made. No idea why that is but in case anyone is concerned that it isn't changed, I guess it doesn't affect the process whatsoever.

Plus one for saying still in process. I was worried about that.
I think depends on VO whether or not Fbi goes in with app.
I am waiting for pr and timeline is close to yours.
Would you share your landing experience?
Congrats to you

Good luck! I hope they can get you some answers!

Glad to see they responded so fast!

Well it was a quick response. They said they'd call me to chat more either on Friday or Monday and nothing yet. I honestly feel like I am having to be a giant PITA just to get anywhere. I feel bad. I hate feeling this way. But it's like I have no choice.

I hope things take other way for you My friend.

I send you a big hug and positive waves!!

Everything is gonna be ok.

Grr.... that's frustrating... I am frustrated for you....

I am going to tell you what I told someone else.... you pay taxes... and they are supposed to assist. So don't give up or lose hope!

If you don't hear from them follow up... All they have to do is make a phone call... it's simple enough, so don't feel like you are asking for something major....

Hey gang,
Any post on the forum you can point me to regarding taxes. If we`re married but he is still a US resident how does that work on my income tax return.
Thanks,
-C

My husband shows married, writes that I have no SIN and that I do not live in Canada, he benefits from this. My income and taxes in US are written in.
We use Liberty tax for his taxes and I do my own in the US.

What is liberty tax?

This is what I did too. I said my husband had no SIN, lived outside of Canada and was unfortunately unemployed. The CRA requested that I sign an affidavit swearing this was all true, and will need to continue doing this until he arrives in Canada.
