FINALLY SENT IN MY PASSPORT!! Now the last leg of the waiting game begins!

For those of you in the US, the best way to get a return envelope is to have someone in Canada mail you one and then you mail it in with your passport. You cannot print a canada post shipping label. I know they actually ask you to do that in the ppr email they send. I dont know if the person who sends out these emails actually know you cant do it. Anyways... thats whaat I did...and I thought Id share it with yall. It took me two weeks to figure it out ughhhh but now I sent in my passport and im waiting :-)

Hello fellow October applicants. Has anyone had any movement lately? It seem like some late Oct applicants got DM but early and mid applicants (I'm an Oct 16) are at a standstill...

Ideas on how to deal with this? My medicals expire July 8. :-\

I'm an Oct.15 applicants and my process has been a mess! My visa office ( Santo domingo) transfered my file to Mexico in May! I got an email from Mexico saying my file is there and then a wee later they emailed asking for a new Medical with 30 days to re-submit! Ours expired in May! That's about it for me!

Wait for them to request remedicals. They might not, some applicants get an exemption from having to do them again.

The CIC operational manual suggests that the agent will request that the medical exam be internally re-evaluated for extension if it is the only thing preventing the visa from being issued and it is more recent than 15 months' old (for an applicant not in-Canada for 2+ years).

Dear Lala:

It surely sucks that all Santo Domingo applications had to be sent to Mexico once your process was already started. It surely will add and extra time of waiting for everybody who got stuck in the middle while these changes were effective.
What I can tell you is that once your application is received by Mexico Office you will see things moving.
Check the Mexico thread and the spread sheet and you will see how long it is taking, approximately 8-9 months for Mexico VO to finalize applications.
Sure this is affecting not only Santo Domingo applicants but all of us who are still waiting (I´m also October applicant), if you need to re submit medicals just do it and send them to Mexico as soon as you can.
At least you have the confirmation that your application is already in Mexico, keep positive, no one knows exactly what caused this change but it is what it is and hopefully you will see things moving after you submit your medicals again.
Sorry I have no better advice just to tell you to be patient and chin up while waiting.
Cheers.

hi guys,
I've got email from embassy that my papers are waiting to be picked up :)
Meaning PR approved, now I have to organize the courier, as I am in Canada now. Finally good news :) ;) :D ;D :P

Thanks for the thoughts on the expiring medical. Fingers crossed, as I took a special trip up to Ontario from the Western U.S. to get my meds done there.

While a Common-Law applicant, we have a big wedding set for October 3 in Ontario. We were really hoping to have a few months to get everything in order.

anyone have good news today?

Just an update: bad news.

They received our application in Miss Ontario Oct 1st 2014 and I have already been cleared as a sponsored.

Our files went to Hong Kong Office and now they want to interview my wife on 25th June 2015. She is born in Philippines and is there as a foreign worker with work permit.
They want Police Certificates from everyplace she lived since 18 (now 41 and I'm 40) plus a page full of additional supporting documents about the relationship besides whats already been submitted originally.

They ask that I be by a phone here in CANADA because they "might" call me.

Update again:

Yesterday (24th June) my wife had the interview at the CIC Hong Kong. It didn't go so well mostly because, they don't believe my wife knows my background enough, it was "quick" meeting/wedding and I haven't really shared my marriage with close family of mine. I don't see why I have to become the most gregarious person on the planet all of a sudden, I don't call or see family members unless there's a reason--I just don't share or talk much with anybody. I understand the planning part (I feel guilty we didn't plan better) but I never agreed with being someone you aren't just to show CIC that we aren't a "fake" relationship...

Anyways, she was out of the interview relatively quick and they said they will sent us a decision. I don't feel it will be what we want to hear so I'm starting to look up info on how to carried out an Appeal.
