I thought there was an eCas thread....but I can't seem to find it....but here I am with more questions! :D

I was finally able to log into ecas (YAY)...and I just want to make sure that I understand everything correctly. It states the day CIC received my application, and that it is 'In progress' January 13 (I assume for SA? Since we haven't received that yet). It also says that Medicals Received.

Does the Medicals Received mean that they officially have them, and that they won't 'expire' in a year? Or is there still a chance, if the application is still in process that they could ask them again? I ask because I had my Husband do them in Canada, since he didn't have a panel physician in his state (he's from the US), and it was way cheaper here even without the exchange rate, than down there. If he had to re-do them, he should be going back to the same doctor....and that would certainly throw a wrench into...well pretty much everything lol.

Just curious...and of course I like to have all bases covered if I need to!

It just means that they have them. They can still ask for you to do them again later on down the road if your application takes that long.

Thank you!!

Have never received an email from CIC but now as a sponsor I can login on-line services and see the status sponsorship application in process, application received, medicals received.

You're welcome. I did the entire application as many other people on here have done completely by myself. I got a lot of questions answered through this forum which helped me along the way and I paid with thank you's and smiles. I really don't see the sense in throwing away money to a lawyer for a spousal application unless your circumstances are very complicated...

That's my opinion

I agree with you Susan! This forum is a great place for info. I did it all by myself with the help of all our members.

I appreciate...

Received SA today [Jan 19th]. :)

So for the people who have SA does it now say 'in process' for the permanent residency on ecas? I'm finding it strange that ours has updated to that but without SA....

I received my SA by email on Dec 10. On my Ecas it says "started processing on Dec 16". That means to me that Ottawa (my VO) is processing my app. You should be able to click on "in process" and see what other info it gives you.
