I think it might get few red flags (or not) and maybe (or not) delay the application, but I think as long as you provided enough evidence that your relationship is genuine you will be OK.Labbadulc said:Hi guys,
Id just want to know if this could cause a problem with my application (a Immigration consultant gave me a scare so i'm asking in here) ... i was married before my current marriage and got divorced and i had sponsored my ex husband however it was inland sponsorship but it turned out bad and we seperated eventually divorced
I met my current husband while i was separated from my husband in another country and we began a new relationship and we lived together but because of medical reasons it forced me to come back to Canada and we got married in early 2015 however in my application i didn't talk much about my ex much except for the fact that we were seperated and then i got divorced from him .
Marriage to my ex 2010
My ex got PPR 2012
My ex and i separated 2013
Met my new husband in 2013
Got my Divorce in Feb 2015
Got engaged in 2015
Got re-Married May 2015
I wonder if this could look bad to immigration but my relationship with my husband is genuine aswell as i lived with my husband from Feb 2014 until Sept 2014 and only left due to my medical concerns and had no insurance overseas. Will this become a refusal case and my current husband never got married i'm the citizen and i'm the one that got divorced.
Thanks!
I understand the worry, I am quite similar, but I think now there is no point to get more opinions, as people tend to scare you or tell the worst case scenarios.Labbadulc said:Btw it's not a CSR of CIC but just someone i reached out to in regards to my situation for some advice independently.
Thanks for the reassurance it's hard enough as it is... and for someone to tell you it might get refused.. because i didn't provide information about my situation with my ex in my new application since i didn't find it relevant since my ex has nothing to do with my new situation.Owl29 said:I think it might get few red flags (or not) and maybe (or not) delay the application, but I think as long as you provided enough evidence that your relationship is genuine you will be OK.
And you passed SA stage, so you clearly can be a sponsor I don't think you are the first one who sponsored someone second or even third time Wish you luck I would not worry myself over something that might or might not happen. Chances that it won't happen are bigger and anyway, as I said your SA was approved, so now it's just a matter of how genuine your relationship will look to officers. I think worst case scenario is either they will want more proof or interview, but I don't think you will be refused.
Exactly an ex is an ex and after a divorce usually never end well...however it's nice to know i'm not alone in my situation Thanks for the reassuranceOwl29 said:I understand the worry, I am quite similar, but I think now there is no point to get more opinions, as people tend to scare you or tell the worst case scenarios.
I think you did everything you could and I assume you provided enough evidence and as long as you were legally separated I would not worry about it. Logically, what could you do now?
I was scared too, as it is my second marriage too, I am a principal applicant, but my husband calmed me saying they will definitely won't hunt my ex husband down. Let's face it, some divorces are not good and there is no law stating that you need to keep in touch with your ex
Congratulations.susanrichards2015 said:I just received my sponsor approval email from CIC. Application being transferred to VO ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
