I'm getting married on Monday and we will be sending in our application within a few days of that. I'm excited! Here's hoping that it doesn't get sent back for any reason.
Hey, Decoy.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I'm assuming that you're filing as married versus common law since you're waiting for your wedding to take place before you file.
I just wanted to offer a bit of advice: I wouldn't send in your application until you've ordered and received your wedding certificate. The certificate is on the document checklist, and your application may be sent back if it's not included.
Someone who recently submitted her application accidentally received a CIC document checklist that they use to evaluate an application once it is received by the CIC; it was tucked into her paperwork that was sent back to her. The list looks like what they use when it comes to determining if your application is eligible to proceed on to Sponsorship Evaluation.

I would say that based on that alone, it'd definitely be an issue if your certificate isn't included in the application. They find it important enough to give it its own number.
Since you'd be applying for PR and Sponsorship as married couple, the marriage certificate is the lone document that allows them to move forward on your case. If you were filing as a common law couple, then you'd have all the necessary paper work and notarized documents to prove that relationship as such. However, once you're married and imply that you are, they need the document.
I highly recommend waiting and ordering your marrige certificate to include in your application before sending it to the CIC. Otherwise, I fear your application will be returned to you. I'd really hate to see your application sent back to you for something as simple as one document. It only takes a few weeks to get once you're married, but it may end up saving you time, money, and frustration in the end.
Good luck, and I hope you have a fantastic wedding!
