I wanted to know......going to affect pace of the VO to make decisions faster.

unless I am misunderstanding your post, the only way this will affect timelines is that if the 2 year policy scares some fraudulent applicants away then it shortens the number of total applicants, therefore making it faster for those that are left.

Hope this helps.
cheers

Will be heading to Edmonton for the first while, then down down to Calgary, my wife is going to love the Alberta winters.

hi Ttcdfold,

you may have already seen this post but if not it is good for a few laughs and I think laughing helps deal with the "waiting stress"......

I just paid the RPRF online cause didn't want to wait for them to request which will delay the application! My question is, is it possible to fax the receipt to Mississauga and my visa office or sent it by mail?

hello abde,

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have read through the rest of this thread but didn't see anything.

Did anyone reply to you with any suggestions? What did you end up doing?

Thanks

I didn't see this question. I have no idea what you ended up doing, but hope it got there!

But I would have sent a case specific email with your UCI and information and that of your partners. Then mailed the reciept to CIC. If it has been transferred then I would send it to your VO. My opinion! As it is what others have said to do or they did and its the same/ similar process for adding additional information to your application/ file.

You should probably send it to both Mississauga and your VO. BUT - wait until you have sponsorship approval so that they have your file in the VO ( give them a few weeks), otherwise they won't know which file to attach it to.

To send it to the VO: use the Case-specific enquiry and make sure that you put the file number etc. You can attach a file, and so the receipt should go there.
For Mississauga: CPCM-EXTCOM@cic.gc.ca

make sure that you include a letter telling Mississauga that you have also sent it to the VO, and vice-versa...
Good luck,
Sweden

Hey canadanow, I have faxed it to both cpc-M and visa office Dakar also mailed it to cpc-m but still no news about it! So I dunno what else to do but wait I guess!
@ Sweden I have my approval with UCI and File number that I included in a letter. I even wrote to my visa office but they said I'm not on system yet so kinda worried!

Hi guys!
I'm hoping someone can help me decipher the ECAS system.

I've been trying to check the system and it keeps giving me errors. Part of the problem I think is because hubby's last name is hypenated (eg. Jones-Smith) so I think I've got that worked out.

When I try to search using UCI - it won't work (I get that "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided" page). When I search using application number it does work but it only shows

Applicant Permanent Residence Application Status
Bob Jones-Smith Application Received

Does anyone know if you get more information by searching with one number than another? Or do they all show the same info?

Thanks! :)

hi Katelynlc..

Mine is the same. Like so many have said that e-cas is not reliable and depends who your VO is. At least you are in the system and now its just a waiting game! :)

The info you get is the same - make sure you use the correct combination: if you got the UCI from the sponsorship approval, then it's UCI + sponsor info ( family name only, no first name, no initial), OR file number ( starting with F) + applicant info.

Normally you should have 2 parts: one about the "sponsorship", if you have received the letter of approval it reads "decision made", and the second part, like you described. If you have had the sponsorship approval, and you're waiting for the VO to start working on your file, then your ecas is "normal" and unfortunately there is not much else to see!

Good luck,
Sweden

I have been trying to access ECAS unsuccessfully. They sent us a new UCI in this email (different from the one I had been using for study/work permits prior). Whenever I enter the UCI (or other methods, like file # or Receipt #) along with my information (DOB, last name etc), it says "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided." It is MY information I need to be entering, not my sponsors, right?

Two weeks processing sounds good. I'll hope for that (can't believe some people got it in a day!!).
I'll keep you posted :)

Hi...the UCI number is the sponsor's info and the Application/File number is the applicants info!!!

@Ms Malawi and @Sweden

Thanks so much! :) That's very helpful!

Wow just took a glance at the spreadsheet for the first time in a while and it looks like almost everyone has gotten at least stage 1 approval.... Me and Rm15 (who I have not seen on the thread for a while now) and berbu have all applied in the beginning of the month and still have heard no word from CIC :((( my husband is going to call on Friday if we don't hear anything by then. I'm starting to forget that we even applied for this anymore it just feels like its going nowhere and makes me think that if the first part is taking this long then the second part is going to be even longer :/
