Great to hear that you got your approval RM15. I think bscinto92 you will recieve your's soon as well. You guys must have been tossed on the desk first with a pile of others to follow.
Now that I am sitting here waiting to hear stage 2 AOR I am wondering who will get the notification. Will it be the sponsor or the applicant. I am the sponsor in this case and when I enter ecas using the UCI number I recieved with the sponsership approval I also see my wifes application which states application and medical recieved. Will they use her email address to inform her of the stage 2 AOR or will I still recieve notification. Anyone know how this works after stage 1 AOR?

My understanding is after sponsor approval all correspondance is with the applicant.

Glad to see status moving along for most people, and have my fingers crossed for the rest!

We just got an email today from our VO asking us to send scans of my wife's passport pages. Is that the 'passport request,' or does the VO actually request the physical passport at some point to actually put stickers or stamps in it? I'm a little hazy on the process here.

[edit] I guess I figured it out . . . this request for a scan of the passport pages is really just a request for additional information, and the request for the physical passport actually comes some time later.

Am I right?

For us, the VO asked for the actual passport. not a scan. maybe you forgot to include the scan the first time...

Thanks for that. Interesting, I don't remember them asking for scans of my wife's passport with the initial application (other than the first page). With this email they asked for a scan of every page. No worries, I'll get it done!

Congrats RM15, weird coincidence that i made a post about you not having approval yet and then you just got it yesterday lol. Maybe they took the first half of the week to work on your application and they're gonna take the second half of the week to work on mine.... i can only hope lol... it's been almost 3 months now and i just really miss my husband so much : ( to think i could have been with him right now in Canada where i'm happiest... and then all this crap happens to me with my demented leg, lol oh well maybe it's a sign that i'm supposed to stay here a bit longer and work? i'm going out for today and applying to some new salons around here, hopefully i get something because i'm SO sick of sitting around all day every day! i've turned into quite the chef ever since i've have all this free time though hahaha, i guess cooking just passes the time... only problem is trying to hold back from eating it all ; )

For our application I scanned in pages of my & my husbands passport to prove we travelled together at the same time. In Aus, for the passport request, you are able to send a scanned copy rather than just original passport itself. I would recommend looking at past visa forums where your application is being processed and see what past applicants had to do.

I done mine I scan and print my passport the first page and all the arrival and departure that we travel together. I think when they ask u for a passport it means visa is coming good luck nov. applicant hope October would get too..

No movement this week either...Last update: Jan 23, working on Nov 9 files.

I have been waiting just about 2 months for stage 1.....but to see some folks still waiting from early November is crazy. It makes no sense to see mid to late December files being approved but Nov still waits. Maybe some more knowledgeable forum members can shed the light on how the files are selected?

Alex, as far as we can tell there is no rhyme or reason to how files get choosen. The best guess is they get put on a desk and then when that pile reaches the "limit" they move to the next. It depends how fast your IO works and with the holiday season, it added more time to the progress! I guess its the luck of teh draw if you are approved in 6 days or 3 months!

I recently heard those on this forum are only about 11% of all applications recieved by CIC.. so who knows how many more submitted in early November and haven't heard anything!

For those left.. here's hoping!!!
