It is a personal choice to try for an extension. Just make sure you give enough time for it to be processed. The outcome is really up in the air and may just depend on who you get. I have heard you can apply and use your pr paperwork to gain an extension. However he would not be able to work or study while here. I do not believe he can apply for an OWP as I am assuming you applied outland.

Yes it was Outland, but his case is being processed in Ottawa....idk why.

We are gonna try for the extension now or in February. This will allow the 90 days for processing. Hope he gets it

Cheer up, those who haven't had your first stage approval. You will be there soon. Waiting is soooooo borning.
Start to worry about the interview. Really don't want it. Although our relationship is genuine, I can't remember all the details. Can't help recalling what I wrote in the forms. At some places, where there were no specific requests, I just stated the facts and didn't explain them. Wondering when the vo reads it, he's like "why it is so?" Really want to keep my mind off it, but can't.

Hmm I don't think so... It seems like some (on this forum) are almost done with the process, which is great!
With our luck though things will slow down and our November group has to wait months longer Well hope not!
If you haven't heard from CIC yet you definitely should really, really soon.

The handful left who haven't got sponsor approval yet or even an AOR are you able to see anything on your approval status on the CIC website using your receipt? We havent got sponsor approve as of yet (9th Nov arrived by post), nor an AOR or can we see it on the CIC website. Just curious to see if others are the same or should I start to be concerned?

I tried to use the receipt number and it never worked...we didn't have AOR, couldn't find any information anywhere, until my husband called CIC (since the website said processing Nov 9th and ours was Nov 8th) and they gave him the UCI number. Then the next day we got the e-mail of the sponsorship approval.

I soooooooooooo know how frustrating it is when you feel like something must not be right because it's taking so long. But today or tomorrow they'll update the webpage again and you'll be able to call and ask. I am sure you will receive the e-mail soon!!!

Thanks M&M. Nah it's all good eh. You know how every now and then a seed of doubt pops into your brain and you cant shake it. I guess thats the beauty of this forum being able to communicate with others who are in / or were in the same boat. Well we will hang tight for a little while longer.

I wouldn't assume the worst. Patience is definitely something that helps get through the day. I think there may be one or two straglers from October who have not gotten sponsor approval. Check the spreadsheet to confirm. I tried to access it but I can't from this computer. I also think there is only a handful left from December who have not been approved. So stay positive. It will come!

You are so right, I am usually very patient but I must admit it was hard not even knowing if they had our file or not. But now I'm extra patient again, am not expecting anything just taking it easy. I hope that the rest of November filers get their approval soon though

Indeed I was trying to fix another minor error (well more like a cosmetic error) but it ended up getting all mixed up. So I'll work on a it a little more, and come back once I have figured it out I reverted the spreadsheet to its original look for now, and I'll come back and change it once I'm sure it works!
