Hi all....
First I just wanna say congrats to all who have recently received approval especially those who applied early in November, it really makes me feel more hopeful about hearing something this up coming week... On another note my life has been a total mess lately. I have been in and out of the emergency room for the past two days because for the second time in my life I have another blood clot in my left leg :( it is very very very painful and difficult for me to walk, and I also have to follow up with lots of doctors appointments because they have put me on blood thinners and they need to test my blood frequently t make sure that is not too thick or too thin. So of course, I didnt get to leave to go to canada and be with my husband today :( I am very sad about it, but also thankful that I got this blood clot while I was still in the US where I'm covered by health insurance and didn't get all the way up to Canada and discover it then have to leave last minute. I don't know when I will be able to go back, I guess it's up to the doctors to tell me. I just want to get better and not be in pain and get my life back on track and not be alone anymore :( but I have to look on the brighter side and say at least it takes my mind off of waiting fo
r this whole immigration thing lol. Hope to see some good news next week everyone, there's only a few of us left!
get well soon

Oh my goodness!!! I am so sorry to hear about all this... and especially sad that you have to delay being with your husband, but like you say, it could have been worse to have it happen without insurance. Take care of yourself...and I hope you have lots of family or friends nearby that can help you and support you through this...

Hi Nthompson

You may. It depends on you VO. If its close to getting your ppr they may extend it. I would wait until they request it! Good luck.

Thanks guys. So far. A doing well, still ale to walk so I'm to too worried. Nthompson, and anyone correct me if I'm wrong because I don't really fully understand this lol, but isnt there some new policy where if the only thing that is keeping someone from gaining permanent residency is the expiration date of their medical exam then it could be applied for an extension so you do not have to go and get it done over? That would be perfect considering the medical exam isn't exactly cheap lol.... Well for me it wasn't I paid over 300 dollars all together n clouding th chest x ray and everything else.

bscinto92: Oh no :( I hope you'll get better soon and that you'll be able to see your husband and also hear from CIC!!

nthompson: Yeah I've heard of that policy too, that they might extend the medical. Like Ms Malawi says, I believe it's better to wait and see if they request a new one :)

william coates: thank you, I really needed to hear it really is an approval haha!

Ms Malawi: thank you :)

Thank you everyone for being so supportive! I must say I'm glad I found this forum, you guys have made me feel so much better.
Hopefully every November applicant will be in stage 2 by the end of next week (my week starts on Monday)!

I. Hate. Waiting. :-X Just had to get that off my chest lol. I'm really missing my wife right now, she was able to spend 10 days with me over Christmas but it's never enough time.. I wish I had just applied for an extension to my visitors visa and stayed with her in BC, we still could have filed outland. Oh well, I'm flying back April 2nd and if we still haven't been approved for the PR after 6 months I'm going to apply for an extension and stay this time. One good thing about going back to the States, I pay off my car next month!

My husband just flew in for the birth of our daughter in a few weeks. Can the IO at the airport cancel his paper works if he tries to stay longer than the time they gave him?

Also how do I make him stay legally until his papers are finish processing?

Already approved as sponsor n his file is in Ottawa

Applied nov15

I might be wrong (feel free to correct me) but if he's visa exempt he should be allowed to stay for 6 months as a visitor unless the border officer/ IO decides otherwise. If they said he can only stay until a certain date, you might be able to apply for an extension. It's definitely a good idea to follow the rules even if he can't visit you now for as long as you'd like him to. Hope you'll find a way though :)

Good morning all!!! Lets hope for some more sponsorship approvals out of CIC this week!!! Let's have a blue spreadsheet!!!!

BSCINTO - I hope you are feeling better. There is some postives in not seeing your hubby, and just know that time will fly until you get the okay to travel.

Tashannon - An IO always has the ability to deny anyone access to Canada. However, once he is in, he can apply for an extension using all your paperwork - sponsorship approval letter as proof of the application being processed and hopefully stay longer. I agree with m_m ensure you keep it legal and follow the rules on his vistors visa. Better to be apart for a couple months than having the process take forever because of an illegal overstay.

Lindissa - I totally agree. I hate waiting too. I am trying to find new activities to keep my mind busy until this over and my husband is here! Then again I usually end up daydreaming about my next trip to Malawi and that costs a lot of money!!! Then again I only get to see him once a year.. so maze well make the most of it!

To everyone else! Have a great week and don't be afraid to use this thread or others for support.

thank you ms. malawi... i'm feeling better already and the swelling in my leg has gone down drastically, i'm just sore because i've been bruising easily from the blood thinners and ive been getting stuck with needles left and right lol. but i'm mobile and able to walk easier now which is great because now i can keep busy : ) im hoping to hear something this week! if not i'm gonna really have to start putting some phone calls in.

lindissa i feel ya, sucks having to wait and trying to find things to in the mean time, all this time we have just gives us time to sit and think about "why havent we heard anything yet?" ... the wait would be much easier if we could spend the time with our spouses instead. i also spend christmas with my husband and got an extra unexpected day and still it wasnt enough. i booked a flight right after he left because i just couldn't wait to be with him again and then this crap happens and i have to be away from him even more. i wonder the same thing myself sometimes, like why did i ever leave... i knew i had to finish school and i'm glad i did but since i left life has just been so much more stressful.... or maybe it just feels that way because life was so simple when we were together. hope this process starts to go faster for all of us soon!! <3<3<3

They gave him 4 months to stay n said if he doesn't comply then they gonna cancel his pr papers! Can they do that.

Is it even worth it applying for extension or should he just go back after his 4 months?

Also is it possible for him to try n get a open work permit?

It is a personal choice to try for an extension. Just make sure you give enough time for it to be processed. The outcome is really up in the air and may just depend on who you get. I have heard you can apply and use your pr paperwork to gain an extension. However he would not be able to work or study while here. I do not believe he can apply for an OWP as I am assuming you applied outland.
